Thankful Thursday
Each week, Angel Brian hosts the Thankful Thursday blog hop. Kitties Blue and I always try to participate. This week’s thankfuls, not surprisingly, are about the kittens and adult cats abandoned in our alley on October 14th.
I am particularly thankful that the ten young adult cats that were dumped in the neighborhood have been trapped. Seven have been neutered/spayed and vaccinated. Two of those have been adopted and five returned. The remaining three will be spayed/neutered tomorrow. I have just learned that they will not be returned and the five which have come back will be retrapped and taken to a sanctuary with the hope of finding homes. It has turned out that none of the cats are feral and so should be able to be adopted.
This situation has changed daily due to neighbors that decided, after agreeing to the terms of the TNR, that they were going to fight the cats being returned. Neither Barn Cat Buddies nor I trust these individuals not to harm the cats. I will continue to keep you posted about this ongoing saga.
Dad Tom ordered three houses for the outside kitties, but now those will be returned to Amazon. I truly appreciate his generosity and willingness to help these cats.
I am grateful that all eight kittens are thriving.

Chris was here to clean on Tuesday and helped me “muck out” the kitten enclosure. Dad Tom usually does that, but Tuesday is the day he volunteers for the Red Cross. That was definitely beyond the scope of Chris’s responsibilities, and I am so grateful to her.
That’s it on the thankfuls.
As stated above, we will be joining Angel Brian’s blog hop. To do the same, click on the Thankful badge.
Another No Poem Thursday
Once again, I must apologize to Angel Sammy, Teddy and Mom Pam over at Two Spoiled Cats for not participating in Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. Please click the link in the previous sentence to visit and read Angel Sammy’s poem. I do hope to get back to poetry next week. I only need to attend physical therapy once each week for the next four weeks, which will free up some time.
Thanks for sticking with us.

Those kittens are very lucky to have found you. Snoops, Sgt Stripes and Gypsy were all adopted as young adults. Hopefully, the ones who were dropped off will be as lucky.
Bless you all for doing everything you can and then some to help the babies and adults that had been dumped…..they have a chance at a good life thanks to you and Tom. So happy progress continues for all of them toward a happy “forever”. As for your recovery from your last surgery – I hope you’re making progress – even slow progress is still progress and I know you – – – “determined” is your middle name!!!
Love, Pam
Thank you so much for helping those precious babies.
I am glad the adult cats will be helped. Also glad the kittens are thriving- thanks to you and Tom. XO
I’m glad all these not feral cats will have a chance to find a better family than the one which dumped them.
As for why the neighbors have a problem with TNR, all I can say is, “Some people!”
Well, it sounds like those neighbors actually did those cats a favor, even if it wasn’t their intention. And it’s totally understandable why you have to lay some things aside (poems, etc.) for a while. Those kittens look like they wanted IN the kennel, LOL!
Well, good on the rescue(s) to bring the adult cats in!
The middle finger to those neighbors.
You and Dad Tom are wonderful to have helped the kittens and those adults.
*smooch*
Charlee: “That’s great news that the kittens are doing well and that the adults are getting picked up and placed for adoption.”
Chaplin: “We send lots of purrs for you and the other people who are helping them, and lots of hisses for whoever is responsible, and also preemptive hisses for anyone who might want to hurt those poor cats. It’s not their fault somebody abandoned them!”
Oona: “If Oona ever finds out who dumped all those cats in your alley, she will make them sorry! She is a ninja and she is armed with many sharp weapons!”
Thanks to my not being here at the house a lot, I missed this! Let me go back and see what happened. I am so sorry that it happened both for you both and for the cats’ sake.
So glad that the outside cats will be taken care of and homes found. Those kittens are so cute! Thank goodness they have you taking care of them.
We’re glad the other cats will be trapped again. We’re also glad the kittens are doing well.

People who dump cats have no soul.
MERCI thank you soo much for what you and your team do for these abandoned kitties. Humans are sometimes not so human as we would wish….
Wow, that’s a lot of kitties! I am so happy you are finding places for them all to go where they will be safe. Adorable kittens!!
Oh my, that was a large number of cats and kittens suddenly released in the neighborhood! I’m glad it seems to be working out okay and the kitties all taken care of, thanks to you, Dad Tom, the Barn Cat Buddies, and Chris!
Wow, it sounds like the chaos is continuing in a different vein. I’m glad the older cats will not have to worry about outside living anymore. And those kitten will surely be able to be adopted, they’re SO cute!
Nice to hear you are progressing with your therapy…and maybe soon will be graduating from that. My sister is still 2x a week, and she says its her torture sessions. LOL! She’s having a hard time getting to 120 degrees of flexion…other than that she’s almost back to doing everything herself. SHe does have a friend coming to walk her dog.
