Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
So we are back this Thursday with both poetry and some thankfuls. I am beginning with a poem based on an inspiration photo provided by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). Here’s the photo followed by my poem.

The Birthday Band
I hired the renowned frog birthday band
to put on a concert for a special friend.
Their music was totally melodious,
and their singing almost harmonious.
Until they got to “We wish you a happy birthday.”
Then I had to put my fingers in my ears,
as their croaking nearly brought me to tears.
Next year, I think I’ll just send a card!

I have a couple of things to accompany my poem, as today is Teddy and Angel Sammy’s mom’s birthday.

And, of course, we have a cake courtesy of Cooper Murphy.

Pam, Kitties Blue and I wish you the happiest of birthdays filled with love, joy and oodles of Teddy purrs and cuddles.
Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Angel Sammy always writes a terrific poem, so you do not want to miss checking it out. Thankful Thursday
I have several thankfuls this week.
I am grateful for my wonderful friend, Pam. If you have the opportunity, please stop by Two Spoiled Cats and wish her a Happy Birthday. As I stated above, you can get there by clicking on the poetry badge.
I am also thankful for my friends, Tammy and Mary Jane. Both came to visit me this week, and Tammy brought molasses cookies and lemon bars, two of my very favorite treats!
Dad Tom and I are thankful for everyone who left comments on the post from last Saturday about Astrid gaining her angel wings. I have begun to reply to those comments and will continue to do so. If interested in my replies, you can go to “A Prefect & Beautiful Tortie Angel.”
I begin my outpatient physical therapy today. I am particularly thankful to be getting on with my rehabilitation.
Kitties Blue and I will be participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian. To do the same, click on the Thankful badge.
Thanks for being our friends and joining us today.

We enjoyed your poem, Mom Janet! Happy birthday to Mom Pam. We hope she had a great day!
Purring and praying your PT goes well. How wonderful that you are making such progress. 🙂
I love the poem and I am sure Pam did too. Wonderful thankfuls too. XO
Your poem is just right! I did go by and wish Ms. Pam a happy birthday, although I agree a card might be better next year than a frog band for the occasion.
I am praying your PT goes well and you get back up on your feet quickly.
Happy Purrthday to Teddy & Sammy’s Mom~
Fun poem, and yes, just a card in place of a frog band sounds right, LOL. I’m glad you’re able to go to therapy and hope it helps you a lot. How nice to celebrate Pam’s birthday. I’ll hop over and give her my best wishes.
That was a fun poem and a nice bunch of thankfuls too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Chaplin: “That is going to be quite the birthday serenade!”
We are purring for your recovery, and send lots of hugs as you mourn Angel Astrid.
Molasses cookies and lemon bars; sign me up!
Sweet poem for Pam’s birthday. Those are all pawsome THANKFULS.
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
You are such a sweet, loved and dear friend to Pam. XXXXXXX
Oh my precious friend……I giggled through tears at the poem and SOOOO appreciate your birthday wishes! It has totally made my day. If I could have a birthday wish – it would be to give you a hug – all our years of friendship and caring even though we so rarely SAW each other in person! Thank you….and I am hoping and praying your outpatient therapy goes well – soon you will be 100% recovered – and that will be the BEST birthday gift of all.
Love, Pam
That was a sweet poem, and a lovely cake for Pam. I hope the PT goes well.
Ahaha, funny poem, and a very Happy Birthday 🎉 to Pam!
