Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
If it’s Thursday, it means I am going to try to write a poem based on an inspiration photo provided by Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats).
This week’s photo is tutu cute!

The little blonde-headed girl reminds me of myself as a toddler. My mom continually gave me Tonette permanents to curl my straight blonde hair. And I was never graceful. My neuro-muscular disease took care of that. I definitely was never allowed to take dance lessons.
Nonetheless, I have written my poem from the viewpoint of the this girl; though, the language may be a bit advanced for a toddler.
Mini Ballerinas Are Tutu Cute
I never seem to get this right.
My knees are bent, one arm at my side.
The other girls look nearly perfect,
yet I cannot seem to stand erect.
Mommy says I’ll figure it out,
but, honestly, I have my doubts.
I think I hear a different tune in my head—
one that makes me want to boogie instead
of acting like a proper ballerina!

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. As he is a super talented poet, I always recommend you read his poem. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.

Each Thursday is also the day when Kitties Blue and I share the things for which we are thankful and join Angel Brian’s blog hop.
Tuesday was the first Teaser of 2025 over at Two Spoiled Cats. I was once of two first commenters and received this badge.

Your poem is wonderful, I think the girl just wants to do it her way. I was not a good balleria, I don’t have the right build.
That was a Tutu cute poem and very nice thankfuls too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Yes, they are Tutu cute, LOL. I was a non-comformist, so that would have probably been me, too.

I love these poems today. Enjoyed yours as well. They are all smile makers.
Yeah, let’s boogie!
Oh how we loved your poem……Mom was older when she took ballet but “gangly” and skinny and taller than all the other girls in class. She MUCH preferred her tap dancing classes! Mom says she remembers “Tonette” perms though…..LOL One thing we are ALWAYS and FOREVER thankful for is the friendship of the BLUES CREW!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Really nice poem and mama shares your memories of dance classes or whatever..she just wanted to climb trees.
That is a sweet poem. I think that little girl must be at her first dancing lesson…there’s another girl there who doesn’t quite get it either, LOL!!
We’ll see how they do when its ‘recital’ time…
It was fun to be a ‘firstie’ with you.
Ahahaha funny poem! Congrats on being a first commenter on the Teaser!
