Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) gave us another fantastical photo for this week’s poetry challenge. I made it even sillier by adding Raleigh to the photo. I had not added one of the Kitties Blue in a really long time, and this seemed like a great opportunity to do so. Hope Raleigh doesn’t slide right off that polar bear’s back and land on his head.

The Bear & The Cat Act
Look at that polar bear with his pet cat.
That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen since The Cat in the Hat!
Do you think they are part of a circus act?
I wonder why they’ve been riding the bus?
Quick, snap a photo or people will think we’re nuts,
or that this image is a huge bluff!
They’ll accuse us of photoshopping this strange pair
just to get more Instagram & TikTok shares.
But, actually what others think I really don’t care.
I am just happy I got to see this unusual sight
and didn’t panic and run away in fright.
It could be one of my life’s greatest highlights.

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy is one of our all-time favorite poets, so we recommend you read his poem for today. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.
Thankful Thursday
Thursday is also the day when we like to share the things for which we are thankful. The Kitties, Dad Tom and I have a long list of thankfuls this week.
Sawyer is thankful that Periwinkle & Stinky promoted the book Purrseverance, which features his story, “Sawyer: The Lucky Cat,” during their adventure at Friends Furever on Tuesday. (You can purchase the book from Amazon or Barnes & Noble as an e-book or paperback.)
Dad Tom and I are thankful friends, who we had not seen in a long time, joined us at the house for breakfast last Saturday. (We are not too certain how our guests felt about being continually pestered by Kizmet.)
Periwinkle & Stinky are thankful I have finally posted their badge on our sidebar and am making really good progress on creating their archive page.
Dad Tom and I are thankful that our wonderful Dr. Neel is coming today to do our annual Round-Up for exams, vaccinations and claw trims. (Kitties Blue cannot say they are thankful for that, but in their opinion, it is totally better than being dragged in a PTU to the vet office.)
That leads to the next thankful: Dad Tom and I are thankful Dr. Neel has been unable to completely retire, and therefore remains available to us for this yearly event.

Blast from the Past: Dr. Neel, vet tech Whitney and Mau from Round-Up 2015.
Though e-mail continues to be non-functioning as set-up on the laptop and iPad, I am thankful, however, that I now am able to access it from my hosting site.
And finally, a huge thankful for me. I was able to pet Raleigh, seven strokes from neck to tail and four from base of tail to tip. He was preoccupied with Kizmet at the time. (As Raleigh does not need to participate in the Round-Up, I hope this bit of progress will not be lost.)
That is our very long list of thankfuls for this week. Kitties Blue and I will be joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop at Brian’s Home. You can do the same guy clicking on his badge,
Thanks for coming to see us today. Hope you’ll join us again tomorrow for Friendly Fill-Ins and Feline Friday.

A long list of thankful things is a thankful in itself!
Your bear and cat act poem is just right.
That was a fabulous poem, I really enjoyed it. That was a fantastic bunch of thankfuls too and hooray for your Vet being around a bit longer. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh we just LOVE your poem this week…..what fun! Raleigh looks quite comfy on the bear – I’m thinking the bear fur is SOFT…….nice that Dr. Neel is still able to the round-ups for you all…..it’s wonderful to have her come to the house so she can do everyone at the same time…..way easier for you AND for her. We think you had a BIG LOAD of thankfuls this week….and that means you’ve had a very good week. We’re “re-signing” up for your blog posts as we didn’t get a notice today – we can’t have that!! Don’t want to miss a thing!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Great poem. Wonderful list of thankfuls. I wish I could find a vet that goes to the home. XO
HURRAH for petting Raleigh! And claw trims, and a funny poem.
100% this is way better than a Cat in a Hat
And of course why not a circus act…excellent
You fooled me at first I thought how did I miss the cat on the bears back !!
Clapping. We were fortunate that Madi did not mind having her nails clipped…but I had to be quick. Her Daddy held her like a baby and I was laser focused usually finished int a nanao second. Raleigh is a great name for a cat
Hugs Cecilia
We LOVE your poem and the addition of Raleigh!! We also think your THANKFULS are great (although we agree the Kitties Blue might not)
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
It’s great to have a long list of thankfuls! And good poem, too. A kitty riding on the back of any bear – that really would be something to see.
Ahaha, the funny bear picture is even funnier, and cooler, with Raleigh added! It’s always great when a vet you really like doesn’t retire!
