Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Another Thursday has rolled around, and it is time to share some poetry. Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) presented us with another silly photo as this week’s inspiration.

Elder Abuse?
Gramps said we could play hide ’n seek,
but then he fell fast asleep.
Mom said I should get off his lap
and let “the poor guy” nap.
I do like painting just as well;
Grandpa will look really swell
with lots of colors on his face!
I bet I’ll get a big embrace.
This may not be what we’d planned,
but I think gramps looks grand!

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy is a super duper poet, which is why we always suggest you head over to Two Spoiled Cats to read his weekly contribution. Today’s poem is sure to be another winner. You can find it by clicking on the poetry badge. While visiting, check out the inspiration photo for next week and join us then in writing a poem.
Thankful Thursday
Besides sharing poetry on Thursday, Kitties Blue and I always try to share the things from the past week for which we are thankful.
Sawyer has been allowing us to administer his transdermal phenobarbital twice each day. He’s not running to us asking for it, but he isn’t fighting us when we do it. He did have a seizure a few days after we began administering the pheno in this manner. But, he has not had another seizure since June 22. Dad Tom, Sawyer and I are all very thankful for this.
Stinky and Periwinkle are grateful for each of you who joined them for their special adventure on Tuesday. If you missed it, they gave lots of information on finding a lost pet for National Lost Pet Prevention Month. If you would like to read the post or save the information (just in case), click on the link.
I am relieved as well as grateful that I finished my responsibilities as far as judging entries in four categories for the Cat Writers’ Association Annual Contest.
Kitties Blue and I are so thankful to each of you who visit and comment on our posts and especially for those of you who participate in our Sunday Selfies blog hop.
Thanks for joining us today.

Chaplin: “Our Dada says some people pay good money for this kind of makeup work, and there’s Grandpa, getting it done for free!”
We are SO happy to hear that Sawyer is doing better with his seizures! We worry about him.
Purrs to you all <3
Your poem is just right! I’m very glad to hear Sawyer is not fighting the meds and they seem to be working.
Cute poem. I can picture my great-nieces doing that. 🙂 Wonderful thankfuls. XO
That was a fun poem! Such a wonderful bunch of thankfuls and I gotta say…YAY SAWYER! Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
YAY bravo bravo such a fun photo challenge from Angel Sammy and you rose to the challenge with vivid colors and words. That is for sure a fun grandpa/or dad. Even if he can’t get the make up off, I think he will go about his day full of memories made and the fun.
Sawyer knows what you are doing is done with love. I never in 1,000 years thought Madi would allow us to administer SUBQ’s 2 times a day. She was not fond of being held. We started by placing her on the bed near a window. She sat purrfectly still while Bryan petted her and held the iv bag as I put in the needle. She never flinched. She knew it was all done with love.

That’s a great poem. I hope Sawyer continues to do well.
Love the poem! I’m hoping Grandpa doesn’t mind sharing that artwork with the world until it fades away – maybe he’s decorated with washable colors??? Hopefully! We are happy to hear Sawyer doesn’t mind his new form of meds – that’s good news along with the fact he’s been seizure free since. We send prayers every day for our friend and for ALL of you!!!
Huggies, Teddy and Mom Pam
Gramps may not think he looks so grand when he wakes up!
I am glad the transdermal phenobarbitone seems to be working, and that Sawyer accepts having it administered that way.
Ahaha funny poem! Glad to hear Sawyer’s taking his med and has been seizure-free for awhile!
I forgot to say, that is great that Sawyer allows you to give his medicine the transdermal way. and that he’s gone a good while without a seizure. Let’s hope he continues to be seizure free.
That’s a fun poem!! Made me giggle!
