Thankful Thursday
Each Thursday, Kitties Blue and I look back on the past week and the things for which we are thankful. After listing them, we participate in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian.
I am beyond thankful that Sawyer and I had a great vet visit on Monday. Look at him sitting on the scale with no one even holding him. Both Dr. McBane and I were so proud of him. Sawyer and I will provide more photos and information on tomorrow’s post.

Dad Tom and I were fortunate to meet with some friends we hadn’t seen for quite a while for brunch on Saturday.
Kitties Blue and I are thankful for everyone who visits and comments on our posts and especially those of you who participate in the Sunday Selfies blog hop.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Each Thursday our good friends, Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) invite their friends to try their hand at writing poetry. They provide an inspiration photo to give participants a basis for their poem.
This week’s photo is very much like one from February 12, when they provided a photo of a toddler discovering himself in the mirror. You can see that photo and poem here.

Betrayed
Oh my God, what is that?
You said I was your only cat—
your soulmate and one true love.
Then, I find this imposter in our special place
staring me right in the face.
I’m stunned and angry and sad.
You played me for a fool, broke my heart.
I suppose I must now share my food, toys and treats
and my warm place beside you in bed
with this sorry excuse for a cat.
What? What did you say?
This cannot be me. I am much more
handsome than this—a stunning feline
of fine breeding and exceptional quality.
I exude charisma and joie de vivre.
This cannot be me. I refuse to believe it!
You’ll cast me aside to roam the streets
looking for shelter and a new true love.
Before that happens, I’ll be under the bed.
If you want me, get rid of that blockhead!

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. He is one of our very favorite poets, and I always recommend you read his poem. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. We’ll be back tomorrow and hope you’ll join us again then.

OMC! I LOVE your poem. And great news about Sawyer. Can’t wait to hear the rest.
Sawyer looks a bit put out, but here’s hoping all tests come back with no hiccups.
Good poem!
OMC Sawyer, you are SOOOO handsome!! I’m so very proud of you. Your Mom did a great job on the poem too.
Love and whisker kisses,
