ROUND-UP REPORT & FILL-INS

Feline Friday

Well, ten days have passed since the roundup, and Kitties Blue have recovered. Actually it wasn’t so bad. They all were woman-handled, except Audrey who escaped to the living room. She was only scheduled for a pawticure, but she didn’t know that.

Everyone was fairly well-behaved except Cooper Murphy and Astrid … the largest and smallest of the gang.

Cooper did not want to be weighed or have his claws trimmed and fought like a wild cat.

ROUNDUP REPORT: Large ginger tabby cat with his tongue out and a red towel wrapped around his head.

I expected Dr. McBane to chastise Cooper for his weight, which has ballooned to 21+ pounds. Instead of reprimanding him (me), however, she said cats which have been abandoned, as he had been, often become food insecure and never get over it.

As for 5.9 pound Astrid, she curled her paws around the edge of the scale and had to be pried off at least four times before she could get her vaccine and claws trimmed. I didn’t get a photo of her shenanigans, as I was trying to help pry up her paws.

ROUNDUP REPORT: Tortoise shell cat having her heart listed to.

Calista Jo, Kizmet and Lisbeth were not happy campers, but they behaved. Like Astrid, C.J. and Lisbeth are senior kitties and have lost weight, but are definitely not wasting way and are in good health.

ROUNDUP REPORT: Collage of three cats having a check up by the vet.

Raleigh only had his claws trimmed and Sawyer had blood drawn for a phenobarbital check. Though, Sawyer has been getting his pheno meds transdermally for five weeks and has not had a seizure (that we know of) for the past month; the level of pheno in his blood has dropped even more and is way below a therapeutic level. Right now, however, we are in a wait-and-see mode before making any additional changes. to his meds.

So that’s the report from this year’s roundup.

Friendly Fill-Ins

The Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop is hosted each Friday by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They publish the fill-in sentences on their blogs each Thursday. Thankfully, Stinky stepped up again to help out this week. We both used teal italics for our fill-ins. Any additional or explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. The best part of the summer is watermelon, apricots and peaches.

2. I can’t believe that I ever dated someone who became a director with the CIA. (That is true!)

3. Stinky: I would happily spend time with Periwinkle every single day.

4. I could use a break from the heat and humidity.
