Thankful Thursday
I have been in pain since February when I tripped and bent a pin in my right great toe, which had been there for more than 20 years. I am super thankful I was able to have surgery yesterday to have that pin replaced with two staples and a screw! Now the several weeks of healing begins. Woohoo!
I actually forgot one of my thankfuls last week, but it is still appropriate this week. My favorite television program, The Amazing Race, began a new season last Wednesday night, which means episode two was on last night.
The cycling road race, Vuelta a España, began Tuesday and runs through November 8. So, I have something interesting to watch on the TV everyday while sitting on my heinie with my leg up.
Sawyer, as well as Dad Tom and I are thankful his last three seizures have each been an entire week apart. Sure, he has had longer intervals between in the past, but one per week is manageable.
And, of course, we are super thankful that Dad Tom, our friends and I remain virus free.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by everyone’s friend, Brian. If you’d like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and link up your post.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
I only managed a haiku today for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. It, however, is based on real events from high school.
Here’s the inspiration photo and my haiku.
Boyfriend liked bowling
My balls went in the gutter
I learned to keep score

See you all tomorrow for Feline Friday and Friendly Fill-Ins.
Praying you have a speedy recovery. Cute poem too. XO
We send you many healing purrs.
One thing is clear – there are a lot of articles on this topic, but this one is the best. Others write non-interesting and dry and read quickly, and after reading there were no unnecessary questions to the author.
We are so glad you are done with that surgery and things will begin to look up. We bet the doctor cuts you loose early as you are going to have such good nursing care at home. Big Purrs to Sawyer that news makes us all feel so good
You must have really kicked something hard, to bend that pin!
What did the Russian Olympic Judge award you for your performance?!?
Hahahaha!
Am sure you are already feeling better, but sending hugs and purrs to help speed things along.
We’re glad the surgery is done, and we wish you a good recovery. Purrs
Hopefully your toe heals quickly and you are pain free.
Yay for Sawyer!
Wowee…the surgery is over and now the healing begins. I notice the odd new show is coming to TV so maybe that can distract you.
Jean and Tyebe
PS. Snap! Distract your mom by showing her the imitations you can do. I especially like your interpretation of Meowlon Brando’s “On the Waterfront.”….”I I could had this meat tender” mol You say it much better than I do,.

Janet,
After being sidelined with a broken leg this summer, I understand the long healing process. Lots of purrs seemed to help me so tell your fur babies to purr like crazy. I hope you heal quickly without a lot of pain.
Hugs and purrs from Pam, Hemingway and Steinbeck
Good for you on getting the procedure done. Hopefully you’ll be pain free soon.
Big healing hugs to Sawyer. I wish I could wave a wand and make all the seizures to away.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Big healing hugs to the mom and scritches to the kitties. ♥
We’re so happy the surgery is done and the healing can begin. That looks VERY ouchy!!!
We always pray that Sawyer has longer times between seizures. Noelle is still working on the lizard for him.
The Florida Furkids with paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle and healing purrs and prayers from all of us.
I’m glad your surgery is done and we hope the healing happens quickly. Purrs for less seizures for dear Sawyer, he’s such a special dude. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
So happy your surgery is DONE……I know you are too! Kept you in my thoughts all day yesterday…… I absolutely love your haiku. I was always the scorekeeper too even though it took me a while to “get it”. I just was not a really good bowler – I tried though and it was so much fun. Great memories. Take care during your recovery!!!!
Love, Pam
I am glad you have been able to get your toe fixed at last and hope the pain will soon be a memory.
I always like to see the different words we use for different things between the UK and the US. You call it a great toe, we call it a big toe.
MEGA OUCH but glad the operation is done!! Get Well Soon.
Wow, that looks OUCH!
Glad you were able to get it fixed though. I sure hope it heals well, and quickly, so you can be doing all the things you enjoy, once again.
Hope that race has you well entertained. I don’t know how they can do it.
Hopefully Sawyers seizures will not get out of hand while you are laid up. Purrs to him and POTP…and more Purrs and POTP for you!
BTW…almost 90% of my bowling balls go in the gutter, too,MOL,MOL!
