CONVERSATION BETWEEN CATS & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Another Thursday has rolled around, and it is time to write some poetry again. Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) provided a super adorable inspiration photo for this week.

I guess what I have written could loosely be called a poem.

A Conversation Between Cats

Cat Herman
Cat Homer
Mom

Hey, Homer, did you find that roast beef yet?

No.

Well, hurry up, I think someone is coming.

Keep quiet and don’t rush me.

But … I hear footsteps.

Then go distract whoever it is. Hork up a hairball or something.

Why do I always have to be the look out and decoy? It’s not fair.

When you learn to open the refrigerator, we can switch places.

That really isn’t fair. You know I’m not tall enough to reach the handle.

It’s not my fault you’re a shrimp.

Ooh, shrimp … see if there is any of that while you’re in there.

I don’t have time if you think someone is coming.

False alarm. It might have been the TV.

Then don’t bother me. I’m still looking.

No you’re not. I can tell you are talking with your mouth full.

Nope, still looking.

Liar, liar, tail’s on fire. I’m going to go tell Mom.

You are such a baby. Here’s some cheese. Eat it and shut up.

Herman takes the cheese and trots from the room.

Hey, what’s going on in here? Why does Herman have cheese breath?

Nothing, nothing at all. I just got here and found the fridge door open.

Well, close it right now. Neither of you belong in there. Dinner’s in an hour.

Okay, but it’s not fair. Herman got cheese and I got nothing.

Nothing? That looks like roast beef gravy on your paws.

Homer, begins furiously licking his paws and then high tails it from the room.

Herman, it seems you got short changed. Here’s some roast beef.

Herman head bunts his mom and retires to a corner to eat his prize.

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. He is an exceptionally talented poet. If you have never read any of Angel Sammy’s poetry, Kitties Blue and I recommend you stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge. He’s an exceptional poet! You can read Angel Sammy’s poem for this week as well as get the photo for next week’s challenge.

Thankful Thursday

Each Thursday, Kitties Blue and I also like to share the things for which we are thankful and then participate in Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop.

Dad Tom and I are thankful that three field mice have been caught in the past few days and dispatched—one by Kizmet, one by Audrey and one by a kitty who, unlike Homer and Herman, isn’t talking. And, neither Dad Tom nor I checked anyone’s breath! I suspect all the rain we have been having is forcing these little rodents to seek higher ground in the house. I do sincerely hope we have seen the last of them.

The mousie catchers are thankful for the rain and the gifts it has brought them.

I am thankful for being able to have spent time with my friend, Etna, to celebrate her birthday.

As always,  Kitties Blue and I thankful for those of you who visit and comment on our posts and especially for those who participate in our Sunday Selfies blog hop.

Finally, Periwinkle and Stinky send thanks to everyone who joined them this week on their adventure at the Delta Flight Museum.

If you would like to participate in the Thankful Thursday blog hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful. Then, click on the badge below to add your link to the hop.

Please join us tomorrow for International Hug Your Cat Day. Not that I can guarantee any hugging will be happening here!
