Thoroughly Poetic Thursday on Friday
We missed Angel Sammy and Teddy’s poetry challenge yesterday due to our #RememberMeThursday post. But I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to write a poem about this photo.
You may think I dressed Cooper Murphy especially for use in this photo and poem. But he actually is a practiced Sumo wrestler and well known by Sumo cats everywhere.
Beware: Sumo Cat
You can’t intimidate me
You huge, chunky fellow.
I don’t care that you’re as big as a tree.
I may be a little, but I’m mighty,
And I have my super sidekick—sumo cat!
He’s gonna trip you—throw you to the mat.
Then he’ll make biscuits on your jelly belly
Until you cry, “uncle,” and finally admit:
That one’s size isn’t what matters…
It’s one’s determination and grit!

Check out Two Spoiled Cats for next week’s inspiration photo by clicking on the poetry badge. When you visit, please take time to read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Bridge. He’s a masterful wordsmith, and this week’s poem should give you a good chuckle!
Friendly Fill-Ins
For the first time in weeks I managed to complete all the fill-ins without any assistance from Kitties Blue. They were pretty easy this week. As I always do, I used teal italics for my fill-ins.
1. Babies should come with instructions.
2. And just like that it’s fall, and Christmas is just around the corner.
3. I get funny looks from others when I tell them I have nine cats.
4. I once tried to water ski, and I failed.
I am joining the Friendly Fill-ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged- Furballs). To do the same, check out either of their blogs on Thursday for the sentences to be filled in. You can join the hop by clicking on their badge.
Feline/Friendship Friday
I cannot think of a better way to end a post than with a napping kitten showing off some pretty spectacular toe beans.
Audrey will be participating in the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.
Great poem. I love how you add your kitties to them. Anything with cats is better than without. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I get funny looks about how many cats I have too. 🙂 I no longer care though . Very nice toesies. XO
That was a fun poem, well done! Those were good answers too, our Dad is another water ski fail. Audrey sure is beautiful.
Many years ago, the mom tried to water ski too…and failed as well. She never tried again. ~Ernie
Adorable toe beans for sure! Good fill-ins! We, er, have rather a lot of cats ourselves but if we hadn’t taken the kittens in and spay/neutered all, there would be a large feral colony on the streets right now.
Love your fill-ins and your poem. You just can’t un-see that wrestler. Just saying.
Audrey is most adorable. Love the toe-beans too.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Scritches all around, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and a big hug to mom. ♥
Thank you from the heart for the card after the passing of my son. Expresions of caring are so appreciated and treasured always afterward.
Carole and Family.
We love Sumo Cat! Great Fill-in answers. Mom would never try water skiing!! Audrey looks so sweet in her sleepy photo.
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle (who hopes he’s eating)
Napping Audry is too cute showing off her toe beans. I think life should come with instructions. lol
If I heard you say you had nine cats, I would pull up a chair and talk cats with you!
Cooper looks great in his “Sumo Suit”…..I think he could definitely take on that big guy with the help of the little guy! Now that I weigh 28 lbs. Mom is calling me her SUMO Boy. Not sure how I feel about that. Miss Janet you did a great job with filling in blanks and thanks for reminding us that Christmas is on its’ way – Santa Paws and Christmas trees and presents and snow and….well, we’ll just have to wait and see! Sending hugs to everyone!!
Hugs, Sumo Teddy
Wait a minute. I thought it was a Cooper Murphy water skiing and that would’ve been something to see and will I ever learn why this cat is called Cooper Murphy?
Audry, oh my she is SO cute!
Your poem had me giggling:)
My #4 is the same as yours!! That was one of the hardest things I ever tried, LOL!
