Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) provided another hysterical inspiration photo for this week’s poetry challenge. It is below followed by my poem.

Let’s Go for a Walk
Today started out just right—
bright and sunny—not a cloud in sight.
My person said, “Buddy, let’s go for a walk.”
My reply was an excited bark, as I can’t talk.
We started out with a bounce in our steps,
never suspecting what would come next.
My person wanted to stop and talk
to his pal who runs the auto repair shop.
That’s when our day went terribly wrong.
We ended up somewhere we didn’t belong!
Just as my person’s friend stepped outside,
he gasped and his eyes flew open wide.
There was a police car with lights flashing red.
We were told to put our hands up and our legs spread.
I must admit I wasn’t exactly sure what to do,
but I didn’t want to get arrested and followed suit.
The officer said he was looking for a runaway thief,
and he really didn’t mean to cause us such grief.
He realized the bad guy wasn’t standing among us
and said he was truly sorry for all the fuss.
He walked up and gave me a pat on the head,
pointed his index finger at me and said, “play dead!’
I did as I was ordered, as I’m a good pooch.
He laughed out loud and said I was cute!

Thankful Thursday
Thursday is also the day when we like to share the things for which we are thankful.
For the third week in a row, I was first commenter on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. This week I shared that honor with Noelle‘s mom Sharon. Here’s the badge each of us received.

Periwinkle and Stinky are thankful for those of you who joined them for their adventure on Tuesday. If you missed it, you can find it at THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CCXXXVI.
I received news today that my request to upgrade my CWA (Cat Writers’ Association) membership from Associate to Professional was approved. I should have done this years ago, but I am a serial procrastinator. My thanks go to Katherine Kern and Marjorie Dawson for encouraging me.
Kitties Blue and I are always thankful for those few of you who continue to follow us and comment on our posts.
