ONE OF A KIND
I don’t know how to say good-bye.
I thought you were invincible; though,
You used up many of your nine lives.
You ruled us all with an iron paw;
Never took “no” for an answer
And always got your way.
If not, you’d bark to signal your
Displeasure and sometimes raise a paw.
I always joked that you were bi-polar.
When I told people you were a calico
They immediately understood what I meant.
Today was unnaturally quiet in the house.
Can a home seem empty with eight cats?
I will miss waking up at night to find you
Sitting next to me and staring at me.
I will miss you yelling at us as you did
When you wanted breakfast and dinner.
I will miss watching you lounging and snoozing
On the porch settee on a warm afternoon.
But most of all I will miss your kisses!
When kitten Sawyer befriended you,
We suspect you were imparting your
Wisdom and secrets for controlling us.
Time will tell if he was a good listener.
But whatever he may have learned,
Neither Sawyer nor any other cat
Can or will replace you in our hearts.
Lily Olivia, you were one-of-a-kind.

Oh! Someone is NOT happy! That reminds me so much of my long gone Lumpy, who needed baths when he got too old to take care of himself properly. He was long and thin, being part Siamese, with white & cream furs and bright green eyes.
Madison did not look pleased with bath time!
Madison was quite a beautiful kitty — even right after a bath!
Oh dear Madisom was NOT happy!

His eyes and ears say, meowy-irritated. Yet, I am sure he got over it once he was all dry and feeling kitty fresh…*smile

Poor kitty! I tried to give mine a bath in the sink one day and she attacked me and climbed the curtain and ran away. Last time I’ll ever try that again!

Oh my, the kitty does not look pleased! I’ve had to bathe our old cat a few times when he got out and rolled around in poison ivy and it never went well for me!

Of course, this human was just as wet as my beloved boy.
Oh that poor little darling! Sooooooo undignified! But pretty funny picture 😉 If that were me, SomeHuman would be calling the Blood Bank, MOL!
That looks like Truffle after she’s had a bath. She puts up with it now. Brulee hasn’t had to have many, but the last time Mom Paula had to give her a butt bath, Brulee was very stressed!
Not happy, but seems very calm. We usually have to scruff the girls to keep them still enough. Cougar doesn’t seem to mind too much, but you would think we’re torturing Storm for the cries she makes. At least they seem much happier after the bath. Keep the air flowing through their fur for nice kitty air conditioning.
