Sunday Selfies: Week #122
I said we’d have a festive selfie today; and though muted, I think I accomplished that by featuring our angel in this wintery embellished photo.
Fiona took this up-close-and-personal selfie last June to show off her whiskers. Fiona actually had these super short whiskers, but the angle of this photo highlights and enhances them.
The following was sent to us by Laura and those talented and hysterically funny Trout Talkin’ Tabbies. Laura wrote it for kitty Sauce and adapted it for Fiona. It is so thoughtful and totally touched my heart that she would share it with us. I can read it now without crying.
and St Francis said, “Come little one, there is nothing more I can do for you here, don’t be afraid”……and St Francis gently picked up Fiona and carried her into the kingdom of heaven
when the little cat looked around, she realized everything St Francis told her on her journey was true….heaven was beautiful beyond what mere words could express
and Fiona saw there was no pain, suffering, fear, sickness, hunger, thirst or sorrow, until she looked down and saw the family and friends she had left behind
….and for a very brief moment, the little cat too, was filled with sorrow.
then St Francis bestowed Fiona with a set of gossamer wings and said, “Use them to return to your family, when their need is the greatest, as nothing can separate your bond of love. Hold each other in your hearts and your memories, until you are reunited again at heaven’s door.”
and when the little cat tried on her wings, she knew nothing was impossible…… when there is….love
Thank you Laura and all of you who have shared such beautiful words and graphics with us. I will try to share a few things in each of our upcoming posts. I think I can manage that better than I can one comprehensive post.
I know everyone is starting to get busier and busier with holiday preparations but hope you’ll take a moment to snap a selfie and share it with us. If you’d like, decorate it for the upcoming holidays. This is a blog hop and the link to add your selfie is below.
If you’d like to have the hop appear on your blog, the code for that is below as well. Please be so kind as to link to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. That always puts big smiles on the kitties faces.
Have a super easy Sunday!
Laura’s prayer for Fiona shared with you is beautiful and even now, I think of Fiona and the babies there waiting…and their gossamer wings.
Angel Fiona! We are so happy to see you again! We hope you are doing well and we very much hope we continue to see you from time to time. Sending kisses and purrs…
What a beautiful photo of angel Fiona. Our mommy started reading the poem but her eyes immediately got leaky so she wimped out. She’s a wuss that way. Hugs to you.

Angel Fiona, your selfie is just beautiful. We miss you, sweet girl, and our eyes are leaking over that beautiful message.
(To answer your question on our post today, yes that was peanut butter in the vet’s office. It’s always there so I assume it’s for the doggie patients.)
Hello everyone and especially sweet darling Angel Fiona, We are happy to see you, and we like to think of you there in heaven, feeling great again, spending happy days with all the other kitties (and pups, and bunnies, and elephants and stuff 😉 We know you’ll use those wings to pop in on your Mom sometimes, so she doesn’t get too sads. We think your sister and brother are doing their best to make her feel better though. XOXOXOXO
Beautiful post and Fiona’s selfie art is gorgeous.
What a beautiful picture, and the St. Francis story was a balm for heartache.
awwww, the mama’s eyes got leaky reading that, too!!!
What a sweet tribute to Fiona. The text is beautiful, we get leaky eyes too. Purrs
What a sweet tribute selfie that is.
And The Tabbies sure know how to write serious comforting words in poetry. (Even though we all tend to think of them as feline buffoons!)
Bootyful selfie. And bootyful foto of Fiona. Big hugs to all.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
That is a beautiful selfie of Fiona! You’re always so artistic with your photos, I wish I had that talent! Fiona’s whiskers make me think of the lengths we go to with mascara for short lashes. Anything to make them look long and lush! I’m sure her whiskers are quite lush in heaven and she wants nothing more than for you to have a loving holiday with her in your thoughts. You both shall be in mine.
What a lovely photo of sweet Fiona. Her whiskers really did show off in this photo. Love to you and all at your place.
Fiona’s Russian blue furs will look bootiful with her new gossamer wings. Purrs to her family left behind
Beautiful poem! I teared up. It’s nice to think we will see all those we lost again someday
Hi Kitties Blue. We are so sorry to hear about Fiona. We haven’t been blogging much in the last few weeks, so we’re sorry we haven’t been by to convey our condolences. We meowed for her last night on our Facebook page. Godspeed, Fiona. What a beautiful angel you must be now.
The photo and what Laura sent are both so beautiful!! Brought me tears, good ones. Thank you so much for sharing that.
Angel Fiona is looking very beautiful in her selfie today…Sending love and snuggles!
Such a beautiful image of your angel Fiona. And with such beautiful words from Laura. Fiona will indeed be with you forever and always, until you meet again. Purrs and prayers to all of you.
(P.S. I apologize that I seem to have messed up when linking up. I think my link works, but it appears my photo did not come through. I’m using a different device to post today, which is pretty much a recipe for disaster.)
((((hugs)))) and love
Angel Fiona looks beautiful today and she has the most magnificent whiskers!
Sweetest purrs

Love how you embellished Fiona’s photo! Have a great week.
That is a wonderful selfie and that St. Francis prayer sure made my whiskers weepy wet.
Everything about this post is just so sweet, and sad too. Fiona looks adorable in her selfie. What a happy memory of her. The message from Laura is very dear. Take good care during this time. Thank you for hosting this always fun blog hop. We will definitely decorate our selfies next week for Christmas.
That is a beautiful photo of Fiona . I love Laura’s St. Francis prayer too, even if it made me cry. XO
Those are some beautiful soothing words for you and your Angel Fiona, who looks so beautiful in your photo today. Continue to be gentle with yourself, I know that the “happiness” of the Holidays mixed with all the other emotions you have are difficult at this time of year. (hugs)
What beautiful words from Miss Laura. It made us cry, too. We love Fiona’s selfie today. Purrs to all of you.
Fiona’s selfie is beautiful. That poem is lovely and had us leaky eyed but in a good way.

What a spectacular Selfie Fiona took and you highlighted not just her whiskers but the SWEET expression she had and perfectly framed it all……..We both featured our Angels today……that’s special.

Such beautiful words from Laura.
Angel Fiona’s selfie is lovely.
How beautifully Laura has written. You, and Fiona and the family are deserving of such meaningful, caring words … yes: love.
I’m glad you were able to get through the St. Francis story without crying – because my human couldn’t! It’s lovely.
It made our Mom’s eyes leak.
Sweet, beautiful Fiona took gorgeous selfies.

beautiful Angel,xx Speedy
We would NEVER miss the selfie even if it mant putting up a hlding picture and maybe missing the code we WOULD let you know it was there from wherever we were.
We are aiming to do a nice Selfie for Christmas and want to encourage you to celebrate Christmas a bit, holding Fiona’s memory close your your heart. We know you miss her, and we will too but she was a wonderful girl and will never leave.
Great selfie of Fiona!
That St. Francis vignette brought tears to my eyes with its beauty. We miss your beauty Fiona too.
It did us too Mom and Bear.
I love the photo of Fiona. And, Laura’s beautiful piece of writing. We truly never get over the loss of a loved one, but I believe they do become a part of the beautiful Forever. Hugs. Much love.
Such fine whiskers, in deed, and a lovely frame graphic for dear Angel Fiona’s selfie. What a lovely gift from DaTabbies, and once more we share tears on Sunday, but of fondness and hope. gentle purrs Erin
Fiona is gorgeous…she has whiskers that any kitty would envy. The message adapted for Fiona from DaTabbies is heart rendering and yet so calming. A beautiful thing for them to do for your family.

*sniff* We all have damp whiskers here…what a sweet letter to receive! Angel Fiona is lovely. Mommy says she likes to imagine her angel kitties napping away in just the next room–and last week she swears she saw Sylvester stalking through the kitchen–we are never far from those we love even after we leave this world.
What a beautiful selfie of your sweet Angel Fiona. We love it. What a coincidence that our selfie this week is our Angel Moosey. Surely he and Fiona are friends at the Bridge, watching over all of us with love until the day we see them both again. Hugs to you, dear friends.
