Thankful Thursday
Kizmet is always thankful for warm clothes no matter how hot it is outside. She knows I never close the dryer or washer without checking inside, so she never worries about crawling in.
Stinky & Periwinkle are delighted and thankful to have a few more followers than they did when they began their adventures. If you missed this week’s, they helped Cookie Monster celebrate his birthday. You can check out that adventure here.
We are all thankful and blessed to have so many blogging friends. You keep us going from day to day.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted each week by Brian. To participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on the badge below to jump over to Brian’s Home.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday also is the day when I try to write a poem for Teddy and Angel Sammy’s poetry challenge based on an inspiration photo they provide. Here’s this week’s photo and my poem.
The Lady in the Red Dress
A photographer obviously staged this scene,
But what can it possibly mean?
A non-functioning radio on the beach,
Any possible signal out of reach.
A lady in high heels and red dress
Unconcerned about a sandy mess,
Intent upon the distant shore,
As if expecting something more.
Maybe a loved one who has been at sea.
What else could it possibly be?
I could guess or prognosticate
What will be this woman’s fate,
But the question is one not to be debated,
The scene most surely was orchestrated.

If you’d like to try writing some poetry, you can find next week’s photo over at Two Spoiled Cats by clicking on the poetry badge. While there, please check out Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge, and it is always thoughtful and well-crafted.
As always, thanks for joining us.

It looks like a great comfy spot for a nap ! Purrs
What a fun poem!! I never even thought of that, though its pretty obvious:)
I had to ‘bigefy’ the pic to see the radio…we had one like that when I was little.
That’s a very warm and happy thankful sweet Kizmet and that was a darn good poem too! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Excellent poem. Kizmet looks so proud of herself. XO
Kizmet, what a great spot to warm up.
So glad to hear that about our two friends! It is always such fun to see where they invite us along to. Glad to see Kizmet having such a toasty nap and your poem really was different. We loved it!
Ha, ha, good take on that picture! My blogging friends sure helped me through this pandemic as well as some other tougher times in my life, so I know what you mean.
Kismet is adorable and there is no doubt you’re careful about the dryer and her. They do love those warm clothes.
Love yesterdays adventure. Such fun.
Oh the poem is very well done. Fun to see the different takes on the prompt.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and a big hug to mom. ♥
“The scene most surely was orchestrated.”
Great line!
Mom is weird about the dryer and we’ve never been interested. We love your poem. That photo sure had a lot of different interpretations.
The Florida Furkids
I need to fire Mom and hire a new one. She forgot to send my paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer AGAIN!!!!
We thought this was a very strange photo or painting….gave us an unusual sort of vibe and we figured it would make a great Teaser. So far the poems we’ve read prove that to be true! Love this one – we may never know what this is truly “all about” but it sure makes you think! Thank you for playing poetry with us – even if it was a stranger than strange photo this week………… Love the photo of Kizmet in the dryer – there’s nothing like a batch of warm clothes for getting your “cozy” on!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
The dryer thing is something I’ve never experienced.
