Caturday Art
Cooper Murphy is the subject of today’s art. The original photo is unique, as Cooper is sleeping but not on his back with his legs splayed out and his belly exposed. He does sleep on the scratcher with some regularity and always on his side.
I created two versions of the art again this week, and am sharing them both, as I could not decide which I prefer. They are very different from each other.
I started with the Saint effect in the Painnt app, increased the saturation and added the Grain Merge filter from Color Composition for both versions. From piZap I added the Pow filter at about 80% to the top photo. The mats and frames are from Picasa.
To create the second version, I eliminated the Pow filter and added the ScrapZ filter. The white border with the flowers was also added in piZap and the black frame with Picasa.
Of course, Cooper Murphy would love to know if you have a favorite.
We are entering the first version in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. If you’d like to participate, you can find several free photo-editing apps on line. You can find the hop and art by other bloggers by clicking on Athena’s badge.
I also created jigsaw puzzles from each version of the art. The links are at the bottom of this post.
Sunday Selfies Reminder
After another linky fiasco last week on the Sunday Selfies blog hop, Kitties Blue have their paws crossed that you won’t abandon the hop. I had promised to add the links of those who visited while the link was down. Unfortunately, this only worked for a few blogs. Since adding the SSL certificate to The Cat on My Head, a variety of things just do not work as they once did or as expected. Anyhoo, the kitties and I are hoping to see you back tomorrow.
Until then…have a great Caturday!
Nice art ! We prefer the first one. Purrs
Thank you for hanging in there for the Sunday hop and beating the “Linky Blues.”
I think I prefer the second one, CM.
The first artwork is very interesting. I like how Cooper Murphy is radiating.
I like both versions. I was going to say I liked the second, but I also like the vibrant orange in the first one, so I couldn’t really choose one.
I have a guest selfie for tomorrow.
We like the first one best.
Purrs xx

I love your art, especially the first one. XO
Cooper Murphy, I love laying on my scratcher too…just like you! ~Wally
(Tomorrow is BlogBlast4Peace so Ernie will be doing double duty with our Peace Globe.)
I like them both, but tell Cooper Murphy I like the second one the best. It may be the flowers. I’m pretty sure it’s the flowers.
Have a purrfect day, Cooper Murphy. My best to all the other kitties and your peeps. ♥
Great art! I love the first one, particularly.
We’re busily napping to make sure we look beautiful for selfies for the blog hop tomorrow!
I love the first one, it seems like Cooper Murphy’s bright sunny personality shines out as he dreams. Very nice!
You look amazing and amazingly cozy Cooper Murphy!
Coop! Not on your back with belly-up? Hmm…..you do look comfy in that scratcher…..maybe I should give some NEW nap position a try too? Love what your Mom did to jazz up your photo in two totally different ways. Were you compensated for your cooperation with a treat?
Hugs, Teddy
That POW filter is totally epic Miss Janet. We also want to say Cooper Murphy lucked out finding your house when he can snooze so cosily 🙂
Harvey
I think I like the second one best, but I’m sorry to say I could do without the flowers. Don’t be offended though- they’re both creative!
I like the first one – there’s something really cosmic about it!
