TUXIE TUESDAY DOOZY OF A SNOOZY WITH CALICO

The Personal Property of Cats

Misty May sleeps on top of her dad every evening before taking over my pillow to become The Cat on My Head as we sleep. She’s usually on his chest hugging him or in his lap. I have shared many of her hugging photos in the past. This particular photo comes from a lap night. As you can see, she was less than thrilled with the iPhone camera flashing in her face. The calico interloper, Lily Olivia, snoozes away in the background unaware of the photo session.

This photo probably isn’t unexpected as it is yet another super cold winter night. But for Misty May, it doesn’t matter the outside temperature. Hot as an inferno or cold as an igloo she can be found atop one of her humans. She considers us her personal property. No other cat better get in her way or they will get an earful of her displeasure and probably a smack as well. Of course, each of the kitties claim us as belonging solely to him or her.

In the time it has taken me to prepare this post, Fiona has taken over my lap where she purred away while I loved on her until she grew tired of the attention. Astrid is now in that very same spot giving me a good four-pawed kneading and serenading me with rumbling purrs.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Life is good for cats and humans!
