“TRUE LOVE”

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday on Friday

I was unable to get my poem written in time for yesterday’s post, so here it is today. If you follow other blogs where a poem is posted on Thursdays or write one yourself, then you have already seen this week’s inspiration photo. If you haven’t seen it, here it is.

This is definitely not one of my best efforts, but it is representative of how I feel after 46 years of marriage.

True Love

True love grows stronger as years pass.
It consists of support, understanding,
Appreciation and faithfulness.
Grand gestures are no longer needed.
Quiet times of togetherness and caring
Fill the heart and sooth the mind and soul.
Those lucky enough to find their true love
Know to never take it for granted but
Always cherish the love and the loved one.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is the creation of Angel Sammy from Two-Spoiled Cats. Each week he transmits from the Rainbow Bridge a poem and a photo to serve as inspiration for the following week. His poems are always fantastic, but this week’s is also touching and heart-warming. If you haven’t read it, pop over to his post by clicking on the badge below.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #182

Well at least I have the correct day for this weekly blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each week Ellen and Lorianne select two sentences to be completed by participants. They post these are their blogs on Thursday, and we hop on Friday. The hop is at Four-Legged Furballs. You can get there by clicking the badge below.

This week Kitties Blue allowed me to do all the filling in. My completions are in teal italics. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Whenever I leave the house, I worry about Sawyer having a seizure.

2. Eating sushi is not something I ever plan to do.

3. Good things come to those who do good things for others and expect nothing in return.

4. When Sawyer doesn’t eat, it makes me grumpy. (For the last few days, he has only been eating about one of his four daily meals. This means he isn’t getting the amount of meds he needs to control his seizures.)
