Thoroughly Poetic Thursday on Friday
I was unable to get my poem written in time for yesterday’s post, so here it is today. If you follow other blogs where a poem is posted on Thursdays or write one yourself, then you have already seen this week’s inspiration photo. If you haven’t seen it, here it is.
This is definitely not one of my best efforts, but it is representative of how I feel after 46 years of marriage.
True love grows stronger as years pass.
It consists of support, understanding,
Appreciation and faithfulness.
Grand gestures are no longer needed.
Quiet times of togetherness and caring
Fill the heart and sooth the mind and soul.
Those lucky enough to find their true love
Know to never take it for granted but
Always cherish the love and the loved one.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is the creation of Angel Sammy from Two-Spoiled Cats. Each week he transmits from the Rainbow Bridge a poem and a photo to serve as inspiration for the following week. His poems are always fantastic, but this week’s is also touching and heart-warming. If you haven’t read it, pop over to his post by clicking on the badge below.
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #182
Well at least I have the correct day for this weekly blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each week Ellen and Lorianne select two sentences to be completed by participants. They post these are their blogs on Thursday, and we hop on Friday. The hop is at Four-Legged Furballs. You can get there by clicking the badge below.
This week Kitties Blue allowed me to do all the filling in. My completions are in teal italics. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.
1. Whenever I leave the house, I worry about Sawyer having a seizure.
2. Eating sushi is not something I ever plan to do.
3. Good things come to those who do good things for others and expect nothing in return.
4. When Sawyer doesn’t eat, it makes me grumpy. (For the last few days, he has only been eating about one of his four daily meals. This means he isn’t getting the amount of meds he needs to control his seizures.)

I don’t know if anyone else is having the same problem. I can’t reach your latest post from the hop link or from my reader. I can get there from the home page but can’t comment, just getting a blank page. I have tried opening in a new window too but no success. No problem with this post.
Beautiful poem. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Would you be able to syringe a little food into Sawyer’s mouth? I mush up Prancie’s pills and put them into a tiny amount of those lickable cat treats then I syringe it into her mouth to be sure she her meds. XO
Awesome poem ♥
Beautiful toe beans Misty May! Purrs & prayers for Sawyer to eat more.
What a cute pic of Misty May. Sawyer, you have to start eating more! Don’t make your mom worry about you.
Beautiful poem. 46 years is awesome!
I wish I could waive a magic wand, and allow your stress over Sawyer to dissolve; it’s not doing you or him any good. I know…I’ve been there. However, we all make our own journeys, and I pray that yours and his continues to be full of love and companionship.
That was a terrific poem, good answers and a totally adorable Misty May photo!
Love your fill-ins and I worry about Sawyer too. He’s such a precious little one. Hubby loves Sushi. I’ll pass too.
Misty May is adorable. Aw.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Big hug to the mom. ♥
We think your poem is great. Love changes over time but true love stays strong.
Sawyer, please EAT!!!
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
Love your poem! It’s so true. And that is such a cute picture of Misty May. Have a wonderful weekend. I hope and pray that little Sawyer remains seizure-free.
I know what you mean, Bear’s been struggling and nothing seems right in any area of my life. I’ve never tried sushi and I can’t imagine I ever will. First class effort by Misty May!
Sweet poem for Poetic Thursday – we knew there would be some magical poems written to go with this photo and nobody missed that mark – thanks for joining in. Next week’s photo is a doozy too. I like your filling in BUT we’re upset that Sawyer is being stubborn about eating – he SOOO needs those meds but he’s certainly got a mind of his own when it comes to what he does and when. Sending tons of hugs to everyone for a Happy Friday!
Love, Pam and Teddy too
