Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Kizmet and I are here today to share a poem. I went a couple weeks without writing a poem, and last week I did not include any of the Kitties Blue. So, this week I am happy to have had the opportunity to add Kizmet to Angel Sammy and Teddy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) inspiration photo.
It’s not one of my best efforts for which I apologize. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
The Library Cat
As a library cat I am responsible
For making our patrons feel welcome,
But I think this fellow has gone too far.
Napping in the stacks is frowned upon
Unless, of course, one is a cat.
I do it all the time!
Snoring is never allowed; it breaks
The library’s tradition for quiet.
Possibly a lick to the face or a paw swat
Will wake our sleep-deprived, young scholar.
If not I’ll need to call in reinforcements,
And the librarian is not as gentle as I.
She’ll whack him with her ruler and grab his ear
To haul him to his feet. She’ll whisper
Her displeasure, shake her finger in warning.
She’s a bit old-fashioned. Tolerating my fur
Flying about is as much as she’s willing to bear.
So, I will do my duty and wake our sleeper.

Thankful Thursday
Thursdays are the day we like to list our thankfuls. Being grateful for the good things in our lives makes it so much easier to manage the days and times when we are facing challenges. We are particularly thankful that our friend Brian gives us the opportunity to share these thankfuls with you.
Well, Sawyer’s streak has been broken. He had a seizure on Tuesday evening. But the fact that he enjoyed seven-and-a-half weeks being seizure free is something for which we are all extremely thankful!
Cooper Murphy is thankful for recently earning three new merit badges for classes he took at Cat Scout University as well as a new crafts badge.
We are all thankful Audrey and Raleigh are thriving. I am particularly pleased they are willingly allowing me to put harnesses on them for several hours each day. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, we may be able to train them to be Adventure Cats.
And, of course, Kitties Blue and I are thankful for your friendship and support.
If you’d like to join Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop, enter his URL in your browser to be transported there.
That was an excellent poem. I love it when you add one of your kitties to the photo. Congrats to Cooper on all those badges. XO
That is a terrific poem! Those are good thankfuls and this time try to break the long seizure-free record Sawyer! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Aww, Sawyer, we’ll keep hoping for at least 2 months between seizures, a year would be even better.
Kismet, that was a great poem. Just swipe your tail across his teeth. That oughta do it, BOL!
Weirdos Merit Badge, BOL, BOL! We think Chia should get that one and the Skinny Weasels one. What do we have to do to get it for her? XOX Xena, Lucy and Riley
I forgot to say how much I loved your poem. Sorry. I got stuck on Sawyer and Cooper Murphy.
Love and hugs and smooches all around. ♥
Oh no, Sawyer. We had our fingers and toes crossed that you would remain seizure free. Sending you healing hugs.
Way to go Cooper Murphy. You’re my heart cat you know.
I’m glad the two new kitties are doing well and I know mom will work with you so you’re be the adventurous kitties you should be.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around, a smooch Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and a big hug to mom. ♥

Bummer on the Seizure Monster visiting Sawyer. We hope he has a nice long streak again but we always hate it when he has a seizure.
We loved Kizmet’s poem!!!
Raz is enjoying Cat Scouts Summer school. The classes are super fun!!!
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
That’s a great poem!
Did you know that libraries are not quiet anymore, as they become more community centers with gamers, crafters, classes, and lectures.
That’s good, because I have a hard time keeping my voice quiet; I enjoy the folks at the library too much!
I’m sorry to hear about Sawyer and sending hugs and purrs. Love the poem – very clever.
Sawyer, I think of you more than you know, and always with love and purrs. XX
Mom goofed again when she did the hop Sunday and chose the wrong date as she was looking for the code-or something goofy again. Mom is pitiful. But I think it was nice seeing all the kitties from the week before. That’s how I made her feel better.
Wow that does not look like a comfortable place to sleep for a person, though a cat could do fine there, I’m sure. Enjoyed the poem and I think more libraries should have cats. So sorry Sayer had another seizure. Many hopes this will not happen again. Nice to hear that the new little guys are settling in so well!
That was a good poem for what you consider a lack of effort. I hope Sawyer starts an even longer streak.
That’s a winner! Perfect spot to add a cat to the photo too…..LOL So happy that the two newbies at the Blue Crew’s HQ are fitting right in. We just KNEW they would. Thanks for joining our poetic fun………
Hugs, Teddy
Let’s hear it for library stack-guards, otherwise known as purrlice keeping anthros out of the shelves! And so glad the kitties are settling in. SO DARLING.
Awww, that’s a sweet poem, actually! I get a crick in my neck just looking at that sleeping fellow, LOL!
Congrats on those Badges, Cooper Murphy!
Aww, so sorry that Sawyer had another seizure. We’ll pawray for another streak of being seizure free.
It will be fun to see what kind of adventures Audrey and Raleigh will have.
