Thankful Thursday
Kitties Blue and I are participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by our pal, Brian. You can do the same by clicking on the badge at the left.
Dad Tom and I remain thankful to be safe and virus free. We have no idea when we will be able to get the vaccine, but we will be in line as soon as it’s available.
Kitties Blue are thankful for all the holiday cards they received, and we will show them on another day. Amazingly we continue to receive cards that were mailed well before Christmas. The most recent was received on Tuesday from one state away. It was mailed on December 10. The sender could have walked it here faster!
Dad Tom and I also remain thankful we adopted Kizmet. She is a total character and one-kitten wrecking machine, so provides us with hours of entertainment (and some clean-up). She and Sawyer enjoy chasing each other all over the house. We just wish they wouldn’t do it in the middle of the night.
Kizmet’s most recent antics include stealing sponges and other dish cleaning implements from the kitchen and dragging them through the house!
As always, we are thankful for your support and friendship. We pray that you all remain safe and healthy.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday is not only the day we share our thankfuls but also our poems based on an inspiration photo. The photo is provided by the Two Spoiled Cats (Teddy and Angel Sammy). Angel Sammy also writes a poem based on the photo and transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge. It is always an excellent read, so I suggest you click on the poetry badge and pop over to Two Spoiled Cats to read it. While there, you can get next week’s inspiration photo and write your own poem.
This week’s photo and my poem are below.
Possibilities
The new neighbors seemed nice.
When they began to remodel, we didn’t think twice.
We had no idea what they had in mind
Or that their house would be of a different kind.
The icy igloo in the midst of our city
Is impractical; though, it is sort of pretty.
We are certain it will melt when summer comes.
We’re digging a swimming pool to catch what runs
From their house and yard and into ours.
It will fill the pool and water the flowers!

Oh dear, Kizmet…you and Manny! He jumps up to bite the bottle brush EVERY DAY!
Great poem! That was a fun photo. XO
Hmmmm…Do you think with training Kizmet could clean house? She could be great for getting into those inaccessible corners! We LOVE your poem and we are thankful for you guys! You brighten our days! Have a marvellously happy day!
All wonderful thankful things. We are happy we haven’t been sick here. We’ve been so very careful.
Love the poem. Very clever take indeed.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties and a hug to the mom. ♥
Hey, if you want to clean our kitchen, you are most welcome. We like to play with sponge and bottle cleaner too, but we don’t want to clean the kitchen.
Kizmet seems to want to help out cleaning in the Kitchen!!
That’s a fun poem. Mom said she could use some of that melting water for our pool.
The Florida Furkids with paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle.
We join you in being thankful that the nasty Covid has stayed out of your and our friends homes. That girl is really something! Buddy Budd was a sponge stealer when he first came and then told Mr Buttons about that trick. We are so Thankful Kizmet is having such a grand time being a kitties blue and has added to the enjoyment at your home. Stay safe
That is a cute poem and oh that sweet Kizment, kitten energy sure is something to behold! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Great poem. That would certainly be weird having a house like that next door. Kizmet is certainly a character. I bet he is fun to have around. I also read that the post office was overwhelmed this Christmas. I guess because fewer families were getting together.
That is a FABULOUS poem for this week – it’s perfect in fact. Free water for a pool when that thing begins to melt away – these people ought to just move to Antarctica and STAY. HAHAHA Thanks for playing poetry with us – you knocked it out of the park. I’m hopeful that my Mom and Dad will be able to get the vaccine soon too – the sooner the better for ALL humans. Meanwhile please stay safe….I know you are! Sending special hugs to Kizmet the “house tornado” for bringing so much laughter and fun to the house.
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, we sure hope you’ll be getting the vaccine soon…I got my ‘jab’ on Tuesday.
And so far I have tested negative, for all the twice weekly tests they do at my work.
Your poem is so fun!! If there are peeps in there, will they be swimming in the big puddle, too?? LOL!
I’m thankful my human is Covid-free too. She’s very careful about taking precautions, but that’s never any guarantee.
