THANKFULS FROM SAWYER & STINKY & POETRY

Thankful Thursday

Sawyer gets to start today’s post with his thankful for Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. Stinky and then Mom and Dad will follow.

Sawyer

I have not had a seizure since I have been home (three weeks). Most days I have been really good about eating all my noms and getting my meds. I have my paws crossed that I can keep this seizure-free streak going.

Stinky

Do you remember that in last week’s fill-ins, I told y’all I wanted to tell Periwinkle that I love her, and I asked you to keep it a secret? Well, I did it, and she told me that she loves me too. Woohoo! I wrote her this nice letter, and Mom made a cute graphic of us to put on it. Periwinkle and Mom Sharon liked it so much they decided they would put it on their sidebar. So, my mom used it to make us an entirely new badge for our adventure posts.

What do you think? Do you like it?

Mom & Dad

They have been trying hard to get some projects completed around the old homestead, but it isn’t easy these days. Yesterday, installation began on the new fence they contracted for a few months ago. It is just about 90 percent finished and will be completed today along with repairs to our pergola. And the window box Mom bought and painted a couple months back will be installed as well.

We finally had a good soaking rain yesterday. Like so many others, we are in a several inch deficit for 2021.

Mom commented first, along with two others (including Periwinkle’s mom), on the Tuesday Teaser over at Two Spoiled Cats. She didn’t guess right on the Teaser, but she did have the correct country.

We think that’s pretty good for a week’s worth of thankfuls. There could be more, but Mom’s short-term memory just isn’t what it used to be.

We’ll be hopping along with Brian and lots of our other friends. If you’d like to do the same, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on his badge.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

So Mom did get her act together this week and wrote a poem for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. Here’s the inspiration photo followed by her poem.

No Longer Fashionable!

These shoes were once the height of fashion,
But wearing them would be something I’d take a pass on.
They cannot possibly be comfortable
And the time it would take to button them is unconscionable.
A special hook was needed for those tiny buttons.
Can you imagine being late for work and realizing you’d forgotten
Just where you’d placed that hook when you removed your shoes?
I can guarantee you’d be hopping mad and singing the blues!
In the attic or a museum is where these shoes should remain,
As wearing them today would be a gigantic pain!
