THANKFUL THURSDAY ON FRIDAY

In a recent post, Deb Barnes from The Chronicles of Zee and Zoey posted some photos of her kittys’ new cat tree. Like so many things on Deb’s blog, it was leopard spotted. She said she’d found it on Amazon. Since Deb also has eight cats and it seemed big enough for them, Mom thought it should work for us.

Mom made a beeline to Amazon and found the cat tree and put it in her cart. Then like with most things she puts in her cart at various on-line shopping spots, she didn’t order it. She decided at the time that she couldn’t afford it.

Then she started telling our dad that she wanted to put our current cat tree on the screened deck for the summer and maybe get us a bigger one for in the house. After he determined that we could fit a larger tree in the dining room (where the current tree resides), he ordered it for us. Unfortunately, due to Mom’s dawdling, the leopard print was sold out. We got a cream color ’cause it matches the decor. Like we care about that!

Satisfied with Mom’s work, Lisbeth settles down in a cube.

It arrived last night and the humans put it together in the foyer. Today they moved it in front of the big window that looks out to the front yard and street. Wow, it’s double the size of our tree that’s going to the deck, plus we have this great view. We could look out before by sitting on the window sill, but most of our view was blocked by the porch railing.

Mauricio and Lily Olivia may be on the tree together (a first) but are, of course, ignoring each other.

So we all have inspected every inch of it. And Calista has already pulled off one on the little hanging mice. She plays very rough. It’s been replaced with a bell ball.

We are over the moon about our new tree as you can see from the photos. We’re not even interested in the huge box it came in, which remains in the foyer; though, Misty May, Mauricio and Lily Olivia checked it out briefly.

Mom does have a couple of itty-bitty things that she doesn’t like about this new tree. Like we really give a hoot. The covering is fleece instead of carpet so it sheds like crazy. This also means that we can’t get our claws into it, and so we have no traction.

The tree has been relocated to its permanent position to the delight of Lisbeth, Fiona, Astrid, Calista, Giulietta and Mauricio.

Astrid and Lisbeth got their claws trimmed on Monday so Lisbeth kept falling and sliding off last night. Neither of those things bother us, and we’re the ones that matter.

So, thank you Dad and thank you Deb. And, we guess we’ll thank Mom too as it was her idea and she helped put the new tree together.

P.S. Mom wants to apologize for the over-exposed photos. It was the only way she could get Fiona and Astrid with their dark furs to be visible. She says that she has dozens more photos (our blurry vision can attest to that), and she will share more in future posts.
