Thankful Thursday
On Thursdays we recount our thankfuls and join the blog hop hosted by Brian.
Dad Tom and I are thankful to have received both COVID vaccines. We had some side effects after the second injection, but we are fine now.
Once again, I am thankful as I write this that Sawyer has not had a seizure in 16 days. He’s had a couple of instances of symptoms that often precede a seizure, but one did not materialize. This is the longest he’s been seizure-free in a very long time.
I received another First Commenter badge from Two Spoiled Cats, which I shared with three others.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
It’s Thursday, which means it is time for the poetry challenge hosted by the Two Spoiled Cats, Angel Sammy and Teddy. Here’s this week’s inspiration photo and my poem.
Before COVID
A sight we’ll never see again
With women, children and men
Jammed together at the shore
Without the space for one more.
Social distancing did not exist,
But now our lives are based on it.
I wouldn’t have visited this packed beach.
I ‘ve never wanted others within reach.
Anxiety overtakes me with crowds around,
And I become somewhat “unwound.”
My favorite beach is mostly unoccupied.
Until I can travel there I won’t be satisfied.
I’ll social distance and wear my mask
And pray the time will come when I can bask
On a sunny beach far away from home
With my husband…but mostly alone.

Sawyer! Wow! Terrific news buddy! We will keep the purrayers going! And so cool that your pawrents have had their shots! We probably not get ours up here in the great white north for a while yet. Life will continue to be distant and slow. We hope you are all having an awesome day!
Wonderful for Sawyer and you too as well. Good day!!!😻😊🌞
I’m so glad Sawyer hasn’t had a seizure in over 2 weeks! I’m purring that this trend continues. The mom gets her second shot tomorrow.
*purring quietly for Sawyer*
The best thing about beaches, is looking for shells or rocks, imho!
Purrayers for Sawyer’s good run to continue !
We are so very glad to hear that stupendous news. YAY Sawyer! So glad you got the second shot. Dad says PA is all messed up and living next to Filthy-delphia does not help. Congrats on being a Firstie too
Great getting your covid vaccines. Canada is slower. We’ll get them when we get them. I doubt our life will change afterwards so we’ll just continue masking and keeping our distance. Good going Sawyer. I had a seizure about 14 days ago. You beat me. I’m still getting over the parts of my body I injured. The stories we could tell, eh Sawyer?

Way to go, Sawyer. Keep up the good work. The best thankful this week.
Love your poem, but this was never my idea of going to the beach. Way to crowded for me.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥
Excellent poem, I am not good in crowds either. And wonderful reasons to be thankful -vaccines and seizure free. My hubby is eligible for a vaccine, but I can’t book an appt. anywhere as they are always full. XO
We are thrilled and happy to hear Sawyer is seizure free. I hope he stays that way.
We’re all thankful for those lack of Sawyer seizures and I’m glad your shots are done. Our Mom and Dad got their first shot last week. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We’re always happy to hear good news about Sawyer. We’re glad you got your second vaccine and had only mild side effects.
Mom would not like a beach like that. Our beaches are pretty empty.

We’re so happy Sawyer has been seizure free lately and hope he continues on that road. Your Mom’s poem this week is fabulous – my Mom says she feels the same. That crowd is SCARY and we can only hope this photo was not taken last week somewhere because it for sure would be a “super spreader” event!!! Beaches should be quiet and serene (Mom says).
Hugs, Teddy
I’m also thankful for Sawyer’s break from seizures. That is such a gift.
Hooray for Sawyer!! How wonderful to be free of that seizure monster for that long.
Yes, our feelings exactly about crowded beaches.
Glad you got the second vaccines, so now you’ve ‘done your part’ in helping the world to be rid of this evil virus. Us, too, we are ‘all done’…what a relief. Most of the residents at the facility where I work have had both doses of the vaccine, too.
It’s Scout Mango very happy that Sawyer is Seizure Free for over 2 weeks and pushing into 3 weeks! Happy Dancing! And to be able to live in Vermont and to go anywhere without a Mask! Mom just turned age 56 and there is nowhere willing to allow her to even get a Covid Vaccine! But hopefully very soon!
