THANKFUL FOR 2,000TH POST & NO SEIZURES!

 Thankful Thursday

This past week has flown by and has been filled with celebrations. First we had Astrid and Lisbeth’s birthday celebration, immediately followed by the fifth anniversary of our Sunday Selfies blog hop. And today, we are celebrating again, as this is post number 2,000 for The Cat on My Head. So we are beginning our post today with our thankfuls. (No worries, however, we do have a poem as well.)

Kitties Blue and I are super thankful for each of those milestones.

Our biggest thankful (knock on wood that I am not jinxing us) is that Sawyer has not had a seizure in ten days. This is the longest break in forever. We are using something in his food that 15 and Meowing‘s Ellen told us about. It is Cat Mix from Life Extensions. She read a review from a woman using it for her cat who suffered from seizures. The cat had not had any since beginning the supplement. And now, neither has Sawyer. I don’t know if it is the supplement or the fact that he likes it and is eating all his food, which is where his meds are. Because he is finishing his meals, he is sleeping lots more, but that is just fine with Dad Tom and me. Of course, we know all the prayers and POTP are helping as well.

Finally, I am thankful that once again this week, I was a first commenter on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. I shared this distinction with Sharon from Friends Furever and Jackie from Memories of Eric and Flynn. I got this badge.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To take part, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on the badge at the upper left.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Now it is time for some poetry as part of the popular Thoroughly Poetic Thursday hosted by Teddy and his angel brother, Sammy. Each week they provide a photo to serve as our inspiration for the following week’s poem.

Here is this week’s photo and my poem.

The Magic of Fairies

Fairies and butterflies are magical creatures.
To see just one is a special treat.
This young princess must be truly blessed
To find herself surrounded by so many.
If she has a wish, it surely will be granted.
If she is waiting for a handsome prince
To find and take her for his bride,
He is sure to arrive on a sturdy steed
To carry her away to his mountaintop castle.
There the fairies will sew a dress of lace
and a veil of gossamer butterfly wings.
This princess is destined for a glorious future,
as fairies are always a good omen.

Even if you don’t think you are a poet, why not give writing a poem a try. A great website to learn about all different types of poetry and the various formats is Shadow Poetry. Check it out by clicking on the link, then check out next week’s inspiration photo and see what you can do.

To hop over to Two Spoiled Cats, where you can read Angel Sammy’s poem, which he transmits to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge, click on the badge below. You also will find links to poetry from your fellow bloggers in the Comments section.

Apology

Finally, Kitties Blue and I would like to apologize for our lack of visiting. Cooper Murphy and Mau are at Cat Scouts Summer Camp this week and have been hogging the computer and the iPad.

If you are not a Cat Scout, check it out by clicking on the link above. They have oodles of fun and make lots of friends in the process.
