WINTERY CATURDAY ART FEATURING MAURCIO
Here we are: the first Caturday of 2016. Those of you who follow us won’t be surprised to see who has claimed the premier Caturday Art spot for the new year.
It’s our favorite poser…Mauricio! Can a man cat be a diva? I am hoping Allie‘s mom is standing by when Allie sees this. She has a tendency to faint when her boyfriend is looking particularly handsome. And I think you’ll have to admit that he is that.
I used Pixlr Express this week to create our art. I wanted something that looked wintery and found four overlays, that when combined, gave me the appearance I desired.
This is our entry for Athena and Marie’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. If you haven’t tried your paw at some computer-created art or entered the blog hop, why not make that a goal for 2016. The internet abounds with free photo-editing applications. If anybody would like a copy of the list of these apps I have compiled, just let me know in the comments.

Tomorrow will be our first Sunday Selfies Blog Hop for 2016. If you haven’t tried a selfie yet, make that another goal for 2016. Lisbeth will be our host, and she challenges all the other tuxies in the blogosphere to join her. As most of you know by now, all anipals, not just cats, are welcome and encouraged to enter. We look forward to seeing what unusual critters hop over tomorrow.
Fiona asked me to thank everyone for their purrs and prayers and for posting about her on your blogs and Facebook. Though she is now being very picky about her treats and still won’t eat renal food, she’s been eating a bit more. Unfortunately she is really fighting us when it comes to the SubQ fluids. She hasn’t gotten her full amount the last two days, so she still needs those purrs and prayers. She will see Dr. Neel again on Monday and post an update on Tuesday.
Happy New Year, dearest friends.
STUCK IN THE THROES OF THE WINTER BLAHS
Mom says that we have been SO boring lately, which does not make for having a good blog…or any blog for that matter. This winter is dragging on forever. It’s been cold and snowy, and we don’t feel like doing anything but lolling around the house. We’d like to be on the Catio and watch the squirrels and birds. The humans won’t let us go outside unless the temperature goes above 32 degrees F. Even on days when that happens, we don’t want to spend much time there.
So this is what we have been doing.
Lisbeth: I am lying in a weak sunpuddle on the heated kitchen floor alternately playing with the corner of the rug and bathing. (Enlarge the photo to see my raspberry red tongue.)
Astrid: Mau and I are hanging out on the cat tower, mostly napping when not being disturbed by the photographer. Even Mauricio, who has a love affair with the camera, cannot muster a smile as he ponders the pawful weather we have been having.
Astrid: It’s me again, inhabiting a paper bag this time. Nothing exciting there. As you all know, I am the resident bag lady. (No comments needed about the handles, purrlease…I was not left unsupervised!)
This is what we saw when we looked out the window this morning. We have four new inches of snow on top of about 12 inches of old snow. Okay, so it’s not Boston, but we still don’t like it. And our mom’s super case of the winter blahs is obviously starting to wear off on us. Even visiting and commenting on all our furiends’ blogs has become a bit of a chore, especially when it interrupts our sulking. Please forgive us. We promise to do better beginning today.
Mom says that she’ll try to dazzle you all tomorrow with one of her crazy art creations for Athena and Marie’s Caturday Art Blog Hop.
And don’t forget that we will be hosting our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop again this weekend. If you haven’t pawticipated yet, give it a whirl. It’s easy and fun. Once you submit your photo, you have all day to enjoy your “easy,” which is the best part!
