Sunday Selfies

CJ’S SUNDAY SELFIES

Mom said that even though she was going to be away, we still had to have our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. So, before she left, she twisted Lily Olivia’s and my paws until we begrudgingly agreed to snap a few photos of ourselves. I suggested to Lily that we flip a coin to see who would post today, but she refused. She told me that as she is the oldest among us cats and I, CJ, am the youngest, that whatever she decided was LAW. As you might have expected, here I am.

My eyes are dark and muddy as they were all pupil when I snapped these photos. And, of course, I am out of focus. Why my fur colors look different in each photo, I cannot tell you. I did try to make myself look a wee bit better with the peach-colored vignette frame around the individual photos and the fall-themed collage background. Did it work? I do think both my two-toned nose and whiskers are rather nice.

So that’s what I have to offer today. I am excited to see how the rest of you did. Just click and the bottom of this post to enter your link. If you want to post the Blog Hop photos on your site, would you purrlease link back to us and/or display our badge. That would make us all smiley and purry despite our being abandoned.

The one good thing about being Kitties Blue designated selfie cat for today is that I took my photos last weekend. Now I have nothing to do but take it EASY today on the humans’ bed. Guess I’ll chalk that up as a win.

MAURICIO’S HALLOWEEN SUNDAY SELFIES

I was the only cat around this evening and so became the unwilling pawticipant in this Sunday Selfies foolishness. After I had been forced to snap several lousy photos of myself, and Mom had made this collage, several of my housemates showed up. Of course, they did. They knew they were safe for this week. Pfffft!

My favorite is the one where I cut my face exactly in half horizontally as it shows off my whiskers quite nicely.

This is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, and I really hope you will join me today. Just click on the link at the bottom of this post. If you’d like to get the code to post the entries on you blog, will you purrlease display our badge/and or link back to us.

Mom let Astrid dedicate her Caturday Art photo to her boyfuriend, Sampy (Kitty Cat Chronicles). So, I am dedicating my Sunday Selfies photos to my exquisitely lovely girlfuriend, Allie (Friends Furever). She is the most beautiful lady-cat in the world, and I am sending her nose-kisses and my devotion.

The Best Cat Book EverMom asked me to remind you about our current giveaway: The first 55 individuals to leave a comment prior to Monday, November 3, at 5 p.m. will be winners! Five copies of Kate Funk’s book, The Best Cat Book Ever with AC the Cat, will be given away as well as 50 booklets of four postcards featuring AC. Click here to visit the post and leave a comment.

LESS THAN ENTHUSIASTIC SELFIE PARTICIPANT

Welcome to our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Today’s less than enthusiastic participant is Giulietta.

Here’s what she had to say: “This is totally boring and tiresome. I am going to take a nap and get my easy on. Wishing efurrybuddy an Easy Sunday, especially if you too are being subjected to this tediousness.”

Giulietta less than enthusiastic

Giulietta may not be able to pry her eyes open to look at your photos, but I am excited to see everybody’s selfies this week. If you enjoy our blog hop, let your friends know and invite them to join us. It’s a great way to make new friends. I only ask, if you decide to grab the code so that the submissions also appear on your blog, please link back to The Cat on My Head or display this badge.

Don’t forget…this is an excellent opportunity to feature furry friends needing homes.

FIONA SHOWS OFF A SUNDAY SELFIE

[follow_me]

Fiona took several selfies for today, but I have just selected one to post. I probably could have used this for a Caturday Art post as I have tinkered with it a little, including adding a focal Black and White filter in Picasa. The magnifying glass frame was added using piZap.

LILY “FUZZY” OLIVIA’S SUNDAY SELFIES

[follow_me]

It has turned colder than usual here for early autumn. Consequently, my lap has become the prime, most-desired kitty napping spot. I am not complaining as their little, hot bodies are keeping me as warm as I am keeping them. Yesterday my lap saw more than the usual activity. Astrid, Fiona, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio and Calista Jo took turns burrowing in for snoozes. Lily Olivia was the only one who stayed awake long enough and was agreeable to taking some Sunday Selfies. She has taken better ones, but the light was all wrong. We had a large window behind us and a light directly over our heads.

Of course, being the professional she is, she snapped a large number from various angles. These were the most interesting of the lot. And since the photos themselves would otherwise qualify as photo fails, I turned them into an arty collage with the hope of distracting you all from the fuzzy quality.

This post is part of our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, and Lily Olivia invites you to join us. We look forward to seeing all your selfies. And Kitties Blue promise to do a much better job this week with visiting and commenting on each submission.  If you’d like to use the link code to include the hop on your blog, I only ask that you display our badge and/or link back to us.

SWIZZLE’S OUT OF THIS WORLD SUNDAY SELFIES

[follow_me]

SwizzleSelfies

If you haven’t met her, this is our honorary sisfur, Swizzle. She is one of the kitties at PAWS in Connecticut. Kitties Blue and I have set it up so that we will be sponsoring her on a continuing basis until she finds a home.

Isn’t she a beauty? I must thank meowmeowmans (Kevin – Animal Shelter Volunteer Life) for once again helping her take her selfies. When he and his family are at the shelter, they visit and give her extra love and skritches from me.

But like all shelter kitties, Swizzle really wants and needs her own loving home. She is six years old and was returned to PAWS by her original owner who moved to a place that does not allow pets. Please click HERE to read Swizzle’s bio on the PAWS web-site.

Swizzle is participating in our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop and invites you to join us. If you’d like to use the link code to include the hop on your blog, I only ask that you display our badge and/or link back to us.

SUNDAY SELFIES SURPRISE!

[follow_me]
A few days ago I was looking through the photos on my iPhone to see if I had taken anything I could use on the blog. I discovered that unbeknownst to me Astrid had taken 26 selfies of herself. I had no idea she was so capable; though, I should have. She is a tortie cat after all.

The photos are of varying quality, but over all I am quite impressed. I am sharing three of 26, two exceptionally good ones and one of the less than perfect but still adorable photos.

Astrid whispered in my ear as I was writing this post that she took all these photos for Sampy (Kitty Cat Chronicles) with the hope I would find and share them. She really hopes that he likes them and is sending him a bazillioncajillionqaudruplemillion kisses.

Please join us for our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop and add the code to your blog if you like. I just ask that you include our badge or a link to our blog if you decide to do this.

If you have not left a comment on Mauricio’s and Misty May’s Birthday post for a chance to win a customized decal from Pookapet or a donation to your favorite 501(c)(3) shelter or rescue, you have until noon EDT today to do so. Winners will be announced on Tuesday.

Tomorrow for Man-Cat Monday, Mauricio will share the highlights of his surprise birthday party at Cat Scouts.

MONDAY MEOWSINGS POTPOURRI

Siblings, Mauricio and Misty May, were great snugglers when they were babies. Not so much anymore!

Upcoming Birthday Celebration

If you have The Cat Blogosphere calendar and remembered to turn the page today, you saw Mauricio and Misty May when they were itty bitty kittens. (The photo here is from the same time.) When we adopted the brother and sister, we dubbed them “The Babies” to differentiate them from the other older kitties. They are babies no more! On the 17th they turn ten years old.

You are invited to join us for a party on Wednesday that will include a giveaway from Pookapet. (You can read about this cool company tomorrow in our Tortie Tuesday post.) And we will have a comment-a-thon with proceeds going to the rescue or shelter chosen by the winner of a Random.org drawing.

Butterfly Light Award

Butterfly Light Award

A few days ago we received and passed on the Butterfly Light Award. We are now giving this to another blog: McGuffy’s Reader. This is my very favorite non-animal-centric blog; though, three kitties (Maggie P., Grizelda and Chloe Jo) and one woofie (Stella) are part of the household. McGuffy’s Reader is normally an award-free blog, but McGuffy Ann is making an exception for this award. If you are unfamiliar with her blog, please take this opportunity to visit.

Sunday Selfies

Yesterday’s Blog Hop was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who entered a selfie as well as supported and promoted the Hop. It is such an excellent way to make new friends. We’ll be doing it again next week, and even if you usually enter other blog hops that day or like to spend an Easy Sunday, you can still enter.

Calista Jo wanted me to apologize for the blurry quality of the second photo. She insisted on including it as she liked how adorable she is with her tongue out. She’d been enjoying some fresh nip on the Catio when she snapped both of these photos. I added the lacey frames using adornpic.

Today is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Our response was incredible last week, and if you have joined us before, we’d love to see you here again. If you haven’t tried it, what’s stopping you? It’s tons of fun.

If you’d like to use the link code and include the SS Hop on your blog, please include our badge or at the least, include our blog name with a link back to us. Many thanks for this.

On Wednesday, September 17, we will be celebrating Misty May and Mauricio’s Tenth Birthdays. As part of the celebration we will have a Comment-a-thon giveaway with the proceeds going to the shelter or rescue of the winner’s choice. We also will have a giveaway from Pookapet. We will tell you more about this super cool company on Tortie Tuesday.

QUEEN OF THE SELFIES

[follow_me]
Lisbeth has been practicing her selfies since her last less-than-successful outing. She has now declared herself “Queen of the Selfies.” I will let you be the judges. I know Cat Scout Charles will love them.

Lisbeth Queen of the Selfies

This is a Blog Hop. Really hope you will decide to join Queen Lisbeth. I have been thinking that if some of you have kitties or woofies or buns, or…whatever, for which you are trying to find homes, this might be a good way to get them some extra attention.

I also wanted to offer a tip on how my kitties do their selfies. We use the cell phone with the screen facing them. They put their faces wherever they like, and I click the shutter for them. This does make for quite a few deleted photos. In fact, Lisbeth took 25 photos of herself to get these three! But that’s part of the fun. So give it a try and join us today.
