Sponsored Cat

WANTED: HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Sunday Selfies: Week #181

As we told you yesterday, today’s hop is being hosted by a very special guest. This extremely handsome and adoptable man-cat is the cat Kitties Blue currently sponsor at PAWS Connecticut.

This is Taylor. Look at those stunning green eyes and sweet expression. Can’t you just imagine him sitting in your lap, snuggling and purring?

PAWS CT adoptable cat, Taylor

Taylor first appeared as our guest host on December 3. As we told you then, our previously sponsored cat, Charlotte, had been adopted. We selected Taylor as the next kitty we would sponsor for his resemblance to our sweet angel, Fiona. He’s been living at PAWS for most of his life and deserves that happily ever after in a forever home.

Here’s what we told you about Taylor in December. He is a healthy, male, adult cat. Taylor arrived at PAWS on April 10, 2010, as a small kitten. He was shy and frightened by people. Somehow, he got overlooked time after time when individuals came to adopt. Taylor gets along well with other nice cats. He’s curious and interactive with people. With just a little extra TLC he can become your best friend.

Kitties Blue will sponsor Taylor for as long as he remains at PAWS, as we did with Swizzle and Charlotte. But wouldn’t it be nice for him to have a loving home for Valentine’s Day. If you are interested in adopting Taylor or if you know someone who might be, please click here.

We must confess that Taylor had a bit of help with his selfie. Our dear friend Kevin (meowmeowmans) from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life and his wife Tracey are dedicated PAWS volunteers, and Kevin sent us several new photos of Taylor. Here are a few more.

Saying Good-Bye to Mr. Buttons

We are very sad that another friend received his wings and ran off to the Bridge. Mr. Buttons was here with us just last Sunday as he celebrated his 7th Gotcha Day with his brothers and sisters at TomCat Commentary by Tim. If you haven’t already, please stop in and leave your condolences for Dad Pete and all the kitties.

HANDSOME GUEST HOSTS SELFIES

Sunday Selfies: Week #173

Woohoo, we are so excited. None of us had to take a selfie this week! That’s a great thing, but it’s not the most exciting event happening today. If you missed it, we announced last Monday in our post, Sparks for Adoption, that Charlotte, the kitty we’d been sponsoring at PAWS of Connecticut had been adopted. So, today we get to announce the name of the PAWS cat we are now sponsoring. Mom just got confirmation yesterday that we will be sponsoring the cat she selected.

Without further preamble, here is Taylor, in a festive holiday frame. This is actually a photo from Taylor’s post on the PAWS website. We didn’t have time to go to Connecticut to get him to snap a selfie. Our dear friends and PAWS volunteers, Kevin (meowmeowmans) and Tracey, we know will snap some additional photos for us in the future.

Sunday Selfies

We suspect you may have noticed the resemblance of Taylor to our lovely angel Fiona. That and the fact that Taylor is a long-term resident of PAWS was the reason Mom selected him.

Here’s a bit of info about Taylor. Mom will sponsor Taylor for as long as he remains at PAWS, but we’d certainly like to see him have a home for the holidays. If you are interested in adopting Taylor or if you know someone who might be, please click here.

Thank You

Finally we’d like to thank Marvelous and Mom Barb for our cute holiday snowman graphic. You can see it on the sidebar opposite Taylor’s photo. We decided to give the two newbies, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer, the opportunity to represent Kitties Blue. After all, they are pretty darn cute!

We’ll be back tomorrow for McGuffy’s Reader “Sparks” blog hop.

GORGEOUS CALICO GUEST HOST

Sunday Selfies: Week #127

Guest host: calico Charlotte

This stunning calico is Charlotte, the kitty I am now sponsoring at PAWS Connecticut.

Her PetFinder bio reads: Charlotte is a sweet girl about five years old who is a little shy until she knows and trusts you. Once she does, she is very affectionate, likes to be brushed and sit near you. She gets along with other nice cats and would be a great companion.

She is listed on the PAWS web-site as three and a half years old. We are not certain which information is more accurate.

PetFinder also states that Charlotte is: House trained • Spayed/Neutered • Current on vaccinations • Coat Length: Short.

As I did with Swizzle, I will sponsor this girl until she finds her forever home, however long that might take.

I had planned to sponsor two kitties, Pumpkin and Miss Piggy, after Swizzle was adopted. Both, however, were adopted before I could even submit my request. Recently PAWS volunteer and our friend, Kevin (meowmeowmans), let me know Pumpkin had been returned to PAWS.

This is what Kevin wrote to me:

Apparently, her adopters were not patient enough to let Pumpkin come out of her shell on her own schedule. So they brought her back, saying she was not warming up to them. Hiding, smacking them when they tried to pet her, etc. It makes us sad, and kind of mad, but it is better that Pumpkin is back with us than some alternatives we can only imagine. She is a good girl, and we are all giving her lots of love, as always.

This saddens me as well. I will be inquiring this week about sponsoring Pumpkin as well as Charlotte. She deserves at least that much.

If you can afford to do so, please consider sponsoring a PAWS cat or one from your local shelter or rescue. Most have similar programs. All you need do is inquire. If I am able to sponsor Pumpkin as well, I’ll let you know. And if you or someone you know might like to adopt Charlotte or any of the other PAWS kitties, click on their link in the first paragraph.

This is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. All anipals, regardless of species, are welcome and encouraged to join. And please invite your friends…the more participants, the more opportunity you have to make new friends. Please try to visit some of the other blogs as well. The Dash Kitten crew are very good about visiting everybody each week, and Kitties Blue and I really appreciate their efforts. We rarely make it to all your blogs, but we do try.

The link to add your selfie is below as is the code to have the hop appear on your blog. I only ask, should you do this, you link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge.

With many thanks! Have an easy Sunday.
