INTRODUCING THE NEWLYWEDS

Astrid’s & Sampy’s Wedding

Astrid and Sampy's Official Wedding Portrait

Astrid and Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles) were officially wed in a small ceremony yesterday at the BlogPaws Conference in Phoenix. The Pawparazzi were snapping photo after photo, but their official wedding portrait was created by Lorianne Miller (Four-Legged Furballs). I added the frame using PhotoFaceFun.

The wedding party and guests.

Rings and gifts were exchanged and vows made.

Astrid and Sampson will share additional photos sometime next week.

The new bride asked if she could complete the Friendly Fill-Ins for this week. How could I possibly refuse.

FriendlyFillInsThe Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are from Annie at McGuffy’s Reader. This is a blog hop. You can add your link on Annie’s blog.

Here are week #7’s statements. Astrid’s completions are in teal italics.

1. My feelings get hurt when my sisfur, Misty May, chases and bullies me.

2. I am excited about now being married to the love of my life, Sampson (Sampy) Hall.

3. Astrid Blue first, then Astrid Blue Hall.

4. One time, I fell in love; that’s why I got married.

That’s all for now. I’ll be sharing more from BlogPaws tomorrow.

FLAT SELF HEADING TO BLOGPAWS CONFERENCE

Several Words from Astrid on Wednesday

Astrid says, "good-bye" to her flat self, who is traveling to the BlogPaws Conference.

Here I am watching out the door as flat Astrid leaves for the BlogPaws Conference where she and Sampy’s (Kitty Cat Chronicles) flat self will be marrying. I think it is totally bogus that the two of us don’t get to go in the furs and celebrate our own wedding. Pfffft!

I will be waiting anxiously for the humans to send photos home so I can see the festivities.

If you and/or your human(s) will be at the Conference, the wedding is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Look for my mom or Mom Emily to get your invitation. They will let you know the locale at that time.

Mom and Dad are supposed to arrive today at 10:45 a.m. Arizona time, but… Their flight connections are through Chicago, which is supposed to have rain, lighting, thunderstorms, hail and possibly even tornados. So, it could end up being a very long day (or more) for them.

We kitties will have our favorite nip- and treat-pusher, Chris, to take care of us. Even though I will be missing my own wedding, life will be good for Kitties Blue.

Mom will be reporting from BlogPaws for the remainder of the week.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid

BRIDE-TO-BE SHARES HER SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #96

Hi efurrybuddy and welcome to our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. As I always do, I am dedicating my photo to my handsome fiancé, Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles).

I discovered a terrific and easy way to take selfies while I was sitting on my mom’s lap this morning. I had her open Photo Booth on her MAC, and once I was settled, I just had to hit the trackpad with my paw, and voila…the purrfect selfie. It only took a second, and then I could go right back to working out my paws and claws on mom’s thighs.

Bride-to-Be Astrid shares her selfie dedicated to Sampy.

In just eleven days I will become Astrid Blue-Hall when I marry the love of my life, Sampy Hall. Our flat-selves stand-ins will marry at the BlogPaws Conference in Phoenix, on Thursday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. All humans and furkids attending the conference are invited to attend. The invitations to our wedding arrived today. They are super cute. Look for my mom or Sampson’s mom, Emily, when you arrive at the conference to get your invitation. Don’t worry if you can’t attend, my dad will be taking lots and lots of photos.

I’ve started working on my vows as they need to be extra special. I’ve asked my mom to help as she’s much better with words than I am. Maybe I’ll have her help me write a poem for Sampy as well.

This is our weekly Sunday Selfies blog hop, so you know what that means. It’s time for you to snap a photo of your handsome or beautiful self to share with us and all your admirers. We had a new pawticipant last week, the adorable kitten, Tiger, from SoPurrfect. If you didn’t have an opportunity to visit last week, we hope you’ll drop by this week and meet this darling.

The link to add your post to the hop is below as is the code if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog. Please just do us the courtesy of adding our badge and/or a link to The Cat on My Head on your post. And, as always, should you have any trouble adding your link, let us know in the comments, and I’ll ask my mom to add it for you.

Thanks for hopping!

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid with love and kisses for Sampy

ASTRID’S SELFIE FOR FIANCÉ SAMPSON

Sunday Selfies: Week #94

Astrid's Sunday Selfie for Fiance Sampson

In just a little more than three weeks I will be marrying my fiancé and the love of my life, Sampson Hall. (I call him Sampy.) Anyway, I asked Mom if I could do the selfie this week as I haven’t done one in over two months…March 20 to be exact. I certainly don’t want Sampy to forget what I look like.

If my photo looks familiar, it is because this is my “go-to” expression for a posed photo. I wanted to be certain I looked absolutely purrfect.

Last week was a great hop with 54 entries. That’s not a record or anything, but we had some new hoppers, which is always fun! All the Kitties Blue hope some of you long-time Sunday Selfie hoppers had an opportunity to visit some of the newbies. There was Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat (A BlogPaws Nose to Nose Award Finalist), Miss Gidget Cat and LukeCats. We adore making new friends, and a blog hop is a great way to do it. That’s why we often ask you to invite your friends to join us.

Cat4-001

As always, the link to add your post to our hop is below as is the code to include the hop on your blog if you’d like. If you do either of those things, it would warm our furry hearts if you could link back to The Cat on My Head and/or include our badge on your post. That way others who may want to join in can find us.

And, of course, if you have a problem adding your link, let us know in Comments. Mom will add it for you.

I’ve got my paws crossed all of you, especially Sampy, enjoyed seeing my selfie today.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid with love and kisses for Sampy

BIRTHDAY AND A LOVE AFFAIR

Happy Birthday Sampson

Today is the birthday of the most handsome Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles). Those of you who follow us regularly know this romantic and gallant Cat Scout has been Astrid’s boyfriend for two years. She asked to post a special birthday card for him here.

Birthday Card for Sampy (love)

For those of you who don’t know how Astrid and Sampy’s relationship developed, here’s a synopsis from a previous post.

It all began in February with my Match.Cat post when I asked if any male kitties were interested in taking any of my girls to Madi’s Queen of Hearts Dance.

This is what Astrid had to say about herself at the time: “I am the really shy girl among us. I wouldn’t be pawticipating if Mom wasn’t pushing me. Even though I am two and a half years old, I am a very tiny, tortie girl. I keep to myself most of the time and don’t really socialize with my housemates as they like to bully me and make me cry. If I do go to the ball, my date needs to be with a sensitive and quiet, young man-cat.”

In reply, we received this comment from Sampson’s mom, Emily: ”What beautiful ladies! I am sure they will find dates! If they don’t, I have one young bachelor kitty who I think would be perfect for Astrid. He doesn’t know much about this Queen of Heart’s Ball, but I’m sure he would be interested if I mentioned it to him…”

Astrid then received an e-mail from Sampson and accepted his invitation to attend the Dance.

Here’s a slideshow with highlights of their relationship.

[slideshow_deploy id=’19862′]

It was love at first sight with these two. Sampy’s love and support has done so much to help Astrid gain confidence and stand up for herself (most of the time) against the bullying of fursibs, Misty May and Fiona.

An Announcement

On February 29, just a little more than two years after their first date, Astrid popped the question. She asked the love of her life, Sampy, to marry her. It was rather spur of the moment as Astrid found out just that day about the tradition of ladies being able to ask for the paw of their man in marriage on leap day. And…Sampy said yes. Astrid and Sampy are now engaged.

Tentatively they plan to marry in June at BlogPaws with their flat selves standing in for them.

Please join us in offering your concatulations to this adorable couple.

Even though this is a very wordy post, we are joining the Wordless Wednesday blog hops.

GIFTS FROM OUR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS

Mauricio, Astrid and Lisbeth all have significant others as most of you already know. Each of them received some incredible gifts from those kitties: Astrid from Sampy, Mau from Allie and Lisbeth from Charles.

With Fiona’s illness, all the gifts were not opened until several days after Christmas. Allie, Sampy and Charles were so generous that all our kitties will be sharing. Calista Jo tore the paper off of, played with and absconded with a toy. Lily Olivia got so carried away with a catnip toy that she horked on an unopened gift, the bed and the rug. The two latter incidents occurred prior to any of the actual recipients arriving on the scene.

I am not going to write too much about the gifts but share photos in a slideshow.

[slideshow_deploy id=’18804′]

Needless to say, all the fur balls had a terrific holiday and received more gifts than they deserved. What they don’t know is that they have one more gift to open from their dad and me.

Lisbeth absolutely loves to crawl under the covers with us at night. I believe her new blanket, which she adores, may eliminate her need to burrow with us.

Mauricio, Lisbeth, Astrid and I send our sincere thanks to Allie and Mom Sharon, Charles and Mom Inge and Sampy and Mom Emily (Kitty Cat Chronicles) for their thoughtfulness and generosity. They are the best of friends, and the kitties and I love them all bunches.

Finally, in case you did not see it on Allie’s blog (Friends Furever), Mau asked if I would please share a photo of his main gift to Allie.

I commissioned this pen and watercolor portrait of the couple from Thomas Dalsgaard Clausen. Most of you know him from One Drawing Daily and from creating drawings of many of our furry friends, including Mau and Lily Olivia. I was amazed at how he totally captured these two love birds and can never thank him enough for creating something so beautiful.

MY BOYFRIEND IS BETTER THAN YOUR BOYFRIEND

Lisbeth claims that her boyfriend Charles is the best on the planet. Astrid, of course, claims that Sampy (Kitty Cat Chronicles) is the best boyfriend. They are like children in the schoolyard arguing about this. We suspect if Allie (Friends Furever) was here, she’d claim Mauricio ranked number one in the boyfriend department. But Lisbeth claims to have photographic proof and submits it here for your opinion.

boyfriend

Lisbeth admits that Sampy sent Astrid some nice birthday gifts. You can see those here. But Sampy did not deliver them in person as Charles did. Yep, that’s him in the photos.

Charles is traveling as part of the flat Cat Scouts program. That means he’d be here to visit Cat Scout Mau even if Lisbeth was not his girlfriend. So she considers herself pretty fortunate to have him here and plans to spend as much time with him as possible. Their interactions, however, will be monitored. Head-butting, bathing each other, kissing and snuggling are okay, but no inappropriate hanky panky is allowed.

Lisbeth and others of the Kitties Blue will be sharing more photos of Charles later in the week. And we promise to share photos of of the cats playing with the terrific Pull ‘n Play Charles sent as well as the other toys.

Lisbeth also will be wearing and showing off her beautiful new collar she is inspecting in the upper right photo. She is blowing a kiss to the real, in-the-fur Charles in the photo on the lower left.

Mauricio has not created his flat Cat Scout, but he does hope to be of visiting friends very soon, starting with his girlfriend Allie, of course. We aren’t sure about Scout Sampy. His family just moved a week ago so we expect he’s staying pretty close to home for now. When Mau starts traveling and some of his other Cat Scout friends visit us, we’ll be sharing photos here.

Lisbeth is sending kisses and purrs to her handsome, generous and thoughtful boyfriend.

ASTRID’S SUNDAY SELFIE FOR SAMPY

I was coerced into taking a selfie today as I was sitting on Mom’s lap while all the other Kitties Blue were on the catio. I resisted a lot and made Mom delete a whole lot of very blurry furry photos. Try saying that three times fast! MOL! Anyhoo, I figured if I had to do it, I would fancy up my photo with a pretty frame and dedicate it to my true love, Sampy. I have my paws crossed that he will like it.

selfie

We thought today was a pretty big deal as we mistakenly counted this as the 52nd week of our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. One entire year of selfies. But guess what? It is only week 51! Mom has always been math challenged, but she blames Linky Tools.

Even though we find another week must roll by before we can claim that one year title, we are going to say THANK YOU this week and again next week. All of us, including Mom, are surprised at how successful the blog hop has been. We are delighted that so many friends join each week and seem to have fun with it.

We’ve particularly enjoyed the Sundays when we have had a guest host as none of us have to make certain our furs are in order and that we don’t have any noms on our faces.

We all were curious to find which of the eight of us posted the most selfies and so asked Mom to count them up for us. Here are the results: Me (Astrid) = 9; Mauricio = 8; Lisbeth = 8; Fiona = 6; Giulietta = 6; Lily Olivia = 6; Calista Jo = 5; Honorary Kitty Blue Swizzle = 3 and Misty May = 2. That equals 53, but we have had some “groupies” and this doesn’t include our guest hosts.

I’m really not surprised that I have been featured the most often. After all, I am Mom’s “heart” cat. So, I guess that means I get to declare myself Queen of the Selfies.

We are all feeling a bit embarrassed about Misty May only having two selfie posts. In light of this, Mom has proclaimed our actual 52nd Sunday Selfies post (next weekend): MISTY MAY SELFIE DAY. The challenge will be getting her to take that selfie and share it with you.

Cat4-001Well, back to this Sunday…we look forward to seeing all your selfies and visiting your blogs. To add your link, click below. And please add the hop to your blog if you’d like by getting the code below. We only ask that you link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. Many thanks again, dear friends.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid (with dozens of kisses for Sampy)

2015 VALENTINES RECEIVED

We had planned to share these Valentine cards yesterday, but Mom has been helping Mau put together a Mardi Gras party for Cat Scouts and so couldn’t help us yesterday.

Fiona and Giulietta received both of these lovely Valentine cards from Clooney. Wow, he is handsome!

Allie made this beautiful card with her own paws. Mau received it by good, old-fashioned snail mail on Valentine’s Day. Isn’t she talented as well as beautiful?

Astrid and Sampson celebrated not only Valentine’s Day but the one-year anniversary of their first date. Here’s what the always romantic and thoughtful Sampy sent her.

Finally, we wanted to share one more photo from our special night at the Cat Scouts Hearts & Flowers Dance.

SUNDAY SELFIES: VALENTINE EDITION

As Giulietta had the opportunity to share her Valentine for Clooney last Sunday and Fiona did the same on Wednesday, some of the others demanded equal representation. For our Sunday Selfies today, Mauricio, Astrid and Lisbeth are sharing the Valentine cards they sent to their significant others. Tomorrow we will share the Valentines they received as well as others.

Valentine

Though Charles and Lisbeth have been dating for a while and have been boyfriend and girlfriend for a couple of months, this was their first Valentine’s Day together.

Valentine

Allie and Mau are both Cat Scouts in the same troop (Wildcats) and patrol (Wolverines), so he thought it would be fun to show them both in their neckerchiefs. They’ve been together for quite sometime but just professed their love for each other during the holidays.

Valentine

One year ago yesterday Astrid and Sampy had their first date at Madi’s Queen of Hearts Dance. If you follow Kitty Cat Chronicles, you saw their 2014 photo there yesterday. If you are not a follower, click here to see it. Astrid and Sampy are truly a match that was meant to be. They adore each other. And Sampy has given Astrid confidence that she was severely lacking.

Please join our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop and enter your Valentine selfie (or any other selfie) for us and our readers to admire. If you’d like to share the submissions on your blog, you can get the code below. And please link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge.

If you have difficulty linking and adding your photo to the blog hop, please leave a comment with your URL. I will add it for you.

We are looking forward to lots of participants again this week. The kitties will comment on all our entrant’s posts.
