Easily Like Sunday

SELF-PROCLAIMED KING OF THE SELFIES

Being the only male cat in the family and being the host of Sunday Selfies, I thought it appropriate I be named King of the Selfies. I asked for a crown, but Mom told me that was self-indulgent and would be rude to our guests. Whatever!

Here’s my photo.

I had to fiddle with it as I got my face right up in the camera and, as you can see, it is blurry. I decided some enhancements were in order to bring out my true handsomeness. I am having to deal with some trash talking from Giulietta and Fiona, who claim Clooney is way more handsome than I am. Astrid has also been giving me lip as she claims that Sampy is the handsomest! There also have been some rumblings from Lisbeth about Charles and Misty May about Spitty.

I have told all my fursibs they can claim anything they like when it is their turn to host. But for today, I proclaim myself King of the Selfies and the Handsomest Cat on The Planet. Deal with it!

Even if you think I am conceited, please join me with your special selfie and proclaim yourself to be King or Queen of your own blog. Then curl up and enjoy an Easy Sunday. You deserve it.

As always, if you have difficulty adding your link, let us know in a Comment, and Mom will enter it for you. Also, if you’d like to display the hop on your blog, purrlease display our badge and/or link back to The Cat on My Head. Thanks!

Purrs and paw-pats, Mauricio

MISTY MAY PLAYS POSSUM ON EASY SUNDAY

Misty May, Mauricio and Lily Olivia have outside privileges during the day. They are not required to stay on the Catio like the younger cats. Prior to being allowed outside unsupervised, they underwent many months of training. And they wear collars with I.D. at all times. Both Mauricio and Lily Olivia spend most of their days on the front porch. Lily Olivia’s favorite place is the settee. Mauricio prefers any of the three rockers.

Misty May on the other hand spends her days roaming from one napping spot to another. She likes to snooze under bushes, on the pool cover, on top of or under the car, but especially in the driveway. There she can be in the shade, lounge in a sun puddle or take advantage of both at the same time. And best of all, from there she can watch all our comings and goings.

Misty May playing possumIn this photo Misty May is trying to distract us with her pristine white tummy and adorable, jelly bean toes. It is her attempt to convince us that she is having some shut eye while stretched out in what we refer to as summer position. But it is all a ploy. She is playing possum. She is totally alert to our every movement and just waiting for the basement door to open.

You may not believe it, but she can spring from this position in the blink of an eye and dart into the basement where she can lose herself for hours and hours!

No matter how vigilant and quick we are to try to stop her, like a flash she has disappeared. If we are taking the bike out for a ride, and she won’t come out, she can remain trapped for up to four hours. Sometimes by the time we return home, we have forgotten she is there. If Misty May doesn’t bolt out the moment the door is opened, I know just where to look if she doesn’t show up for dinner.

Sometimes I wonder what she finds to do for all those hours, but I suspect, just like the rest of you kitties, she has found a place to nap and enjoy an Easy Sunday. Wherever you are spending your Sunday, we wish you an Easy one as well.

I am sorry I did not get things set up to begin the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop this week. I will do my best to have it up and running for next Sunday.

Mauricio requests that you please stop by for Man-Cat Monday and Tuxie Tuesday. He will be using both days to post about his latest Cat Scout adventure and will have both a new story and poem to share with you.

Finally, please accept the Kitties Blue and my apologies for not visiting and commenting as much this past week. I was out of the house three days with appointments and spent much of my computer time helping Mauricio get ready for his outing. All of us promise to do better this next week.

EASY LIKE SUNDAY…

Calista Josette

Calista Josette

Calista Josette had just finished a hard play session with a favorite ratty, stuffing-impaired, fuzzy toy that once resembled a dog when I snapped this. Prior to her playtime, she had pulled my fleece warmie off the back of a kitchen stool. She snuggled in and had a good, long nap. After she arose, it went straight to the wash.

If you don’t need to shovel snow today just to escape confinement in your home, take it easy like Calista and enjoy a warm and snuggly day. Happy Sunday!
