REMEMBERING OUR FRIEND PHOEBE

Sunday Selfies: Week #164

It is with great sadness that I join you as host of Sunday Selfies, but I wanted to be here to honor our friend Phoebe. Before I do, Mom says that I need to share my selfie. I’m not smiling. This is my sad face.

Lily Olivua hosts Sunday Selfies.

I did have Mom add some hearts around my photo to show my love for Phoebe.

Phoebe was the main spokes cat for 15 And Meowing. She was the beautiful Purrincess to Purrince Siddhartha Henry at The Purrfect Pad. She loved treats, but most of all, Phoebe loved her grammie and her purrince. Phoebe was a member of the Crotchety Cougars Club, and her mom, Ellen, made the red hats for all the members. Phoebe had spunk and wit. She was loved by all who knew her. She was especially happy when she was told, “You are beautiful.” And she was!

Either Phoebe or one of her fursibs was always here for Sunday Selfies.

All the Kitties Blue are going to miss our sweet friend. So today, we honor and remember her.

Phoebe is remembered on the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

Rest in Peace our dear and beautiful friend, Phoebe. We love you.

Sadly we lost another friend a few days ago. The lovely (Erinn) Zuzu from Colehaus Cats. if you have not had the opportunity to stop by and offer your condolences, please do so. Her passing was sudden and totally unexpected.

Blog Hop

That’s right! Now it is time for you to share your magnificent selfie with all your friends on the hop. Here are a few guidelines for anyone new to the hop.

  • The link to add your selfie to the hop is below.
  • You also will find below the code to use if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog.
  • You do not need to post on Sundays to join.
  • The hop remains open for entries through Thursday midnight.
  • Please be so kind as to display our badge and/or link to The Cat on My Head.

Reunion

As most of you know, our mom has been working for about 1 1/2 years on the committee planning her 50th high school reunion. Well the time is finally here. She is writing this for us early on Saturday morning as she’ll be busy Saturday night hugging and reminiscing with old friends. We may not get around to visiting, so if everyone else would please hop over to a couple of blogs your normally don’t visit, that would be most excellent.

Tomorrow we will have a guest post you won’t want to miss.

Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia

CROTCHETY COUGAR LILY’S SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #155

A few weeks ago, Lily Olivia joined a group of senior lady cats, the Crotchety Cougars. They have a signature red hat to wear. It was made by member Phoebe’s mom, Ellen (15AndMeowing). When I attempted to get Lily to wear it and take some photos, she was totally uncooperative. If you missed the post, “Lily Olivia is a Crotchety Cougar,” you can see it here.

Today, when Lily Olivia seemed in a bit of a mellow mood, I plopped her hat on her head and asked her to take a selfie. She used the phone and snapped off three photos. I was stunned by how agreeable she was, after all she is a Crotchety Cougar.

Lily Olivia models her Crotchety Cougars red hat for Sunday Selfies.

Lily Olivia's grumpy expression is appropriate for a Crotchety Cougar.

As you can see, she is wearing her usual grumpy expression along with her red hat. I wouldn’t expect anything less.

If you are a senior lady cat, of at least 15 years of age, and would enjoy belonging to the Crotchety Cougars, contact Kali of The Canadian Cats.

Now that Lily has shown you her selfie, it is time for you to add yours to this week’s blog hop. All anipals are welcome (domestic or wild) regardless of species. And you can join the hop anytime through Thursday. We know some of you don’t post on Sundays. The link to add your photo is below.

If you’d like to include the hop on your blog, the code to do so also is below. If you decide to do this, we have one request: Please link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. This is so that anyone joining the hop from your post will know where it originated. Thanks in advance to this kindness.

Comment-a-thon

I had planned to announce the winner of our comment-a-thon here today. Unfortunately I have not heard back from that person and so will not post the information today. I want to know to which shelter/rescue we will be sending our $80 donation prior to the announcement. As soon as I know, I will share here.

Enjoy an Easy Sunday!

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 60

Today is the day each week when we let you know a bit about ourselves by taking part in the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop, created and hosted by Ellen (15AndMeowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). To enter the hop, click on the above badge, and you will be transported to Annie’s blog, where you will be able to enter the link to your post.

I did the filling-in today except for #3, which was completed by Lily Olivia. As usual, our completions are in teal italics.

1. My next post (Caturday Art) will be number 1300.

2. Fireworks are amazing, but it seems with each year I am less impressed by them. The most incredible fireworks I have ever seen were from the pier in St. Thomas.

LILY OLIVIA: 3. This week, I am thankful for being invited to be part of the Crotchety Cougars Club. Other members are Kali (The Canadian Cats), Phoebe (15And Meowing), Madi (Madi and Mom Down Home in NC), Ellie and Allie (Friends Furever) and Binga (SparkleCat). It is a club for lady cats who are at least 15 years old. At 18, I may be the oldest member.

We ladies will be wearing red hats, and I received mine in the mail yesterday. Mom tried to get some photos of me, but I was my usual uncooperative self. She’d put the hat on me, and I would sit patiently until she was ready to take the photo, then whamo the hat was off. Here are a couple less than fabulous photos. I promise to have better ones to share very soon.

Friendly Fill-Ins

4. Freedom is something I appreciate and cherish. I feel blessed to have been born and live in the United States.

That’s it for us today. Please join us tomorrow for post number 1300!
