COOPER MURPHY, HIS FEATHER & FILL-INS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #200

It’s time for the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). The sentences to be filled in can be found each Thursday on both their blogs. If you decide to participate, the filled-in sentences should be posted on Friday. To enter the blog hop, click on the badge at the left. It will take you to Four-Legged Furballs.

I completed all four sentences this week with no help from the resident pack of eight, lazy bums, AKA Kitties Blue. My fill-ins are in teal italics.

1. Lately, I have done a lot of physical therapy.

2. My family are all in a California.

3. I can’t help but fall in love with every kitten and cat I see.

4. When I meet a stranger, my response depends on their body language and vibe. In most cases I smile and am friendly. I will talk to just about anybody.

Feline Friday

Cooper Murphy is back today with another peacock feather, play session photo. Though I managed to cut off one ear, part of the other and part of his head, I could not resit sharing this photo. He has the cutest expression on his face.

GINGER GOODNESS SELFIE & REMEMBERING ARTHUR

Sunday Selfies: Week #292

As promised in yesterday’s post, I am here in all my ginger goodness to host our Sunday Selfies blog hop. I apologize for my right ear being obscured by the countertop. The photo also is a bit out of focus. (I take after my mom when it comes to my lack of photographic skills.) My hope is that my soon-to-be girlfriend, the gorgeous Tyebe from The Canadian Cats, will like the selfie, as I took it just for her.

Remembering Arthur

On March 8, a dear friend and Sunday Selfie pawticipant, Arthur, from My Cats and Funny Stories, received his angel wings. Arthur was still handsome at nearly 18 years old and had a wonderful life with his family in Belgium.

Arthur’s mom wrote a special memorial post for him with many beautiful photos. If you have not read it or left your condolences, click on Arthur’s photo to go to that post.

Rest in Peace, Arthur. You will be missed.

Hopping Time

It’s now your turn to link up your selfie and share your adorableness with all your admirers. Remember, you do not need to post on Sundays to join the hop, and all anipals are welcome regardless of species.

Thanks so much for hopping with us and being our friends and followers.

Purrs and paw-pats, Cooper Murphy

DREAM OF DANCING

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thursday again and time for poetry. This week I have written both a haiku and poem for Teddy and Angel Sammy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. This week’s inspiration photo and my poems are below.

Dream of Dancing

Growing up I wanted to be a dancer.
My parents knew it wasn’t possible,
But I didn’t…they never told me
I watch with fascination and envy
When I see masters of this art
Glide, swing, twirl and fly.
Alone, with a partner or ensemble
Dance is seductive, mesmerizing.
Someday I will dance…in heaven.
Surely God would not deny me
This one simple dream and pleasure.

My haiku:

Sexy, glamorous
Acrobatic, flexible
How do they do that?

If you’d like to try your hand or paw at poetry, checkout Two Spoiled Cats each Thursday for their inspiration photo for the following week. You can get there by clicking on the badge below. While there, make certain you read Angel Sammy’s poem. It is always thoughtful and purrfect! And you can find links in the Comments section to poems by other bloggers.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for this rag-tag gang of felines as well as their four furblings. What you can’t see is that these four are curled up at my feet. I am never alone or lonely.

I am blessed to have Dad Tom, the eight Kitties Blue and wonderful, supportive friends in my life.

The kitties and I are joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. To join us, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on Brian’s badge.

MORE SLEEPY ART FROM KITTIES BLUE

Caturday Art

By now, many of you most likely think that Kitties Blue spend all their time on Dad Tom’s and my bed. And you wouldn’t be too far off. It is always a challenge to get the bed made in the morning.

Last week Calista Jo was featured on our Caturday Art post from our bed. This week Cooper Murphy has joined her.

As Sawyer spent the entire evening lying in my lap, I didn’t have much time to create today’s art and didn’t get fancy. I used the Bizantino filter from Painnt, and the border is from piZap.

C.J.and C.M. are joining the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. To see Athena’s art, join the hop or find links to art by other bloggers, click on her badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

We know those of you who join us each week do not need this reminder, but it is something we do every week. If some of you have a memory as bad as mine, I am certain you appreciate it.

Anyhoo, Kitties Blue and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

KITTEN BOWL 2020 SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #286

Cooper Murphy is your host today for our Sunday Selfies blog hop. He is sharing the trading card he made for the Hallmark Channel’s Kitten Bowl VII.

Kitten Bowl

If you would like to make your own Kitten Bowl trading card, click on Cooper Murphy’s card. There are four teams from which you can select. And don’t forget to watch the Kitten Bowl at 2 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel.

Both Sawyer and Mau made trading cards as well and want to share them. Sort of bonus Sunday Selfies from the Kitties Blue boys.

Kitten Bowl

Sawyer joined the same team as his girlfriend, Noelle, and he’s really hoping they’ll accept him, as it is the Little Longtails, and he has no tail. He’s hoping they won’t discriminate against him. Mau joined the team Allie selected.

We are looking forward to seeing all your selfies. Obviously they do not need to be in the form of Kitten Bowl trading cards. But if you’d like them to be, that would be fantastic. The link to add your post is below.

NOT ALWAYS A CAT PERSON!

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #193

It’s Friday again, which means it is time for those Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each select two sentences for participants to complete. If you’d like to play along, click on the badge at the left. That will take you to Lorianne’s blog, where you can enter the link to your post.

The sentences to be completed can be found on both blogs each Thursday.

This week I was able to complete the fill-ins without calling upon any of the Kitties Blue for help.

My completions are in teal italics, and any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. My favorite quote is by Emily Dickinson:

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.”

(In 1996-97 my friend, Lynn, was battling malignant melanoma. At that same time I was sending an inspirational quote each morning via e-mail to all the employees at the college where she and I worked. I selected this one especially for her, and it became her quote and mantra. It has remained my favorite since that time. She died in September, 1997, at the age of 39.)

2. My favorite part of February is Dad Tom’s birthday.

3. A little known fact about me is that I was once a dog person. (Though we had cats at home when I was very young, after I turned seven years old we only had dogs. I got my first dog when I was a sophomore in college and my second three or four years later. Tom and I got our first cat in the mid-80s. In all honesty, I still love dogs and all other animals. Kitties are just my favorite, along with pandas.)

4. Living with cats is the most rewarding experience in the world. (Bet you didn’t see that one coming. MOL!)

AN EARLY VALENTINE FOR TYEBE

Caturday Art

More than a few of you know that I have a special friend. Her name is Tyebe, and she is a member of The Canadian Cats. I think and dream about her all the time, so I asked Mom to make some special Caturday Art just for her. This is the version for Tyebe.

Below is the interim version of the art.

As Mom does most weeks, she started with Painnt. She used the Cluster filter, changed the hue of the photo and applied the hardlight and analog effects.

For the Valentine, she added the “Words of Love” effect and lacy edge using Funny.Pho.to.

I hope everyone will find at least one of these arty creations to their liking.

I am joining the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. To join in, click on her badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Misty May will be your host tomorrow for our blog hop. In fact, she has already taken her selfie. She thought if she let a certain man cat know she’d be here tomorrow, he would stop by to see her. Whether he does or doesn’t join the hop, we sure hope to see all our regulars. And new faces are always welcome. Making new friends is so much fun!

Until tomorrow…Cooper Murphy signing off with purrs and paw-pats.
