Astrid

SPARKS: BRAVER, STRONGER, SMARTER

Sparks

Though our friend and originator of the Sparks blog hop, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader), remains on a “break” from blogging, we continue to post a Spark each Monday. This was Annie’s vision when beginning the hop: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

Astrid is presenting our Spark for today.

Astrid presents Sparks

It may be a bit difficult for you to read the quote, so here it is: “Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” A.A. Milne

Astrid is our “fraidy” cat, but that’s no surprise—Misty May absolutely loves to terrorize her. I’d like to convince Astrid that she does have the ability to be brave, strong and smart. Unfortunately, she continues to react to Misty May’s bullying. Even if she’s not able to do so, here’s hoping all of you take Milne’s quote to heart.

I like to give a bit of information about the author of the quote, but in this case I don’t believe that is necessary. As I am certain you all know that A.A. Milne is the creator of Winnie the Pooh, my favorite—Tigger, and all the other characters we love.

Wishing everyone a Monday filled with positivity!

ANNIVERSARY ART

Caturday Art

Today’s art is special as it is in celebration of a wonderful and memorable occasion—Astrid and Kitty Cat Chronicles’ Sampson’s second wedding anniversary.

Anniversary Caturday Art

Astrid and Sampy married at the BlogPaws Conference in Phoenix in 2016. Here’s one of their official wedding photos. Calista Jo was maid of honor and Mau was best man.

To create the arty card, I used Adornpic, Picasa, PicMonkey and piZap. It’s my entry in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. To join in the blog hop or see creations by your fellow bloggers, click on Athena’s badge.

ASTRID’S FLASHBACK SUNDAY SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #200

This is not the Sunday Selfies post Mom had planned for today. She didn’t expect such a milestone, as 200 weeks of posting Sunday Selfies, to be so difficult. Yesterday around 5 p.m. the track pad on Mom’s laptop D-I-E-D, which meant she couldn’t even sign on to the laptop. Of course, her extended warranty is no longer valid.

Mom searched and tried everything she found on-line to get it up and working again to no avail. She did not have a mouse paired with that laptop, so switching to that was not an option. That left the iPad or her old laptop available for producing a post.

She knew the iPad would be a pain in the backside and so booted up the old laptop. It’s trackpad hasn’t worked in ages, but she did have a mouse paired with it. So that’s where I am posting from today. And I am posting an old photo for my selfie. Mom could have tried to upload some new photos, but she was so frustrated I told her not to bother.

The selfie I am sharing is from June, 2015. I posted a similar photo as a selfie three years ago. I am wearing a flower that my yet to be husband Sampy‘s mom, Emily, made for me. Now I wear a collar with rhinestone charms from Sampy. Anyhoo, here’s my selfie.

A SPARK OF LOVE WITH ASTRID & MAU

Sparks: Week #31

Sparks - Unconditional love

I did not receive unconditional love from my parents, either as a child or an adult, so today it is something very important to me. I was fortunate, however, to receive that love from my paternal grandparents. Not all the Kitties Blue love, or even get along, with each other. But Mau always has shown Astrid and several other of his housemates that he cares for them.

I have used a quote from this author for a previous Sparks’ post. If you are unfamiliar with Brian Tracy, you can find out more about him in the post, “A Spark of Gratitude from Sawyer.”

Astrid, Mau and I are joining Annie at McGufffy’s Reader for her Sparks blog hop. In establishing the hop, Annie wrote, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

This is what makes Sparks so special and why I look forward to participating each week.

We are also joining the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus.

EASTER SUNDAY SELFIES

Sunday Selfies: Week #190

We are going to keep this short, as we know you want to enjoy the holiday and not spend a lot of time reading.

We have two hosts today. Just as Lisbeth had hoped her boyfriend Charles would see and like her art yesterday, your selfie hosts are hoping the same thing.

Astrid and Mau are here to send love and Easter greetings to their spouses, Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles) and Allie (Friends Furever).

Easter Sunday Selfies

All the Kitties Blue, Dad Tom and I wish everyone a happy and blessed holiday whether you are celebrating Easter or Passover.

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF

Sparks: Week #23

Sparks #23 from Astrid

Astrid is always true to herself; though, she’s not much for engaging with others.

Eleanor (Ella) Laura Davan Mills (née Woodward) is an English food writer and entrepreneur under the brand Deliciously Ella. She has a blog at deliciouslyella.com.

Astrid and I are joining Annie at McGufffy’s Reader for her Sparks blog hop. In establishing the hop, she wrote this, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!” This is what makes Sparks so special and why I look forward to participating each week.

SPARKS OF FRIENDSHIP

Sparks #22

Sparks Week #22

Of course, we cats are always ourselves! Let’s all strive to be somebody’s best friend.

According to Wikipedia, “Renee Olstead is an American actress and singer. Active since childhood as an actress, she is best known for her roles on the CBS sitcom Still Standing and on the drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager as Madison Cooperstein. In addition, she has recorded four studio albums, primarily of jazz music.”

Mauricio, Astrid and I are joining Annie (McGuffy’s Reader) for her Sparks blog hop.
