Sunday Selfies: Week #407
I was fortunate that I neither had to bribe nor coerce any of the Kitties Blue to take a selfie for today’s hop. I actually had a volunteer. And here is your host for today.
This dove and it’s companion have built and taken up residence in this nest above the curtains on our front porch. They are incubating one egg. Once it hatches, the baby bird will remain in the nest for about two weeks. If I am lucky, maybe the baby will want to share a selfie before it flies away.
I cannot express how delighted Kitties Blue were to be off the hook this week; though, they offer their apologies to Da Tabbies O Trout Towne.
Hug Your Cat Day
I am quite ashamed that I missed this special day yesterday. But in my defense, Kitties Blue hate hugs just about as much as they hate taking selfies. In way of apology for missing the opportunity to share some photos of Dad Tom and me hugging a couple of the felines, here’s the link to last year’s post, “Have You Hugged Your Cat Today?” Hope you all did give and get some hugs from your furballs yesterday.
It’s time for you to snap and post your selfie, or purrhaps you too have a stand-in this week. Whatever the case, we are all waiting in anticipation to see the photo. If you are unable to participate today, it’s not a problem. The hop will remain open through Thursday.
As always, thank you so much for following and supporting us, but most of all thanks for being our friends.
Have a easy Sunday!
Sorry I am late it’s been a busy start to the week! I hug my cats every day so I always forget this one, as well as straw hat day (and I have at least four straw hats!).
Oh, that’s so cool to have a birdie near by, and such a wonderful Selfie too. Will cross my paws for the egg to sprout out soon🙏Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead to all of you sweet KittiesBlue🐾😽💞

What a sweet birdie! In Our old apartment, birdies often used to nest on one of the window-sills. They don’t do it so much here, however. Purrhaps it’s just as well. The baby birdies used to make an awful lot of Mess on the window-sill…
Just the perfect place for them to be!
Have a wonderful Sunday.

We had doves that built a nest in our gutter. Needless to say, the nest did not survive. I hope they built another one in a safer spot. ~Ernie
She takes a fine selfie. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
How nice to have a volunteer for Sunday Selfies. We used to have a dove that came every year and nested in one of our plants.

We hope the proud parents have a healthy baby!
What a special place for that nest to be!!! We had a robin make her nest in our porch flower pot. It was so hot there with the sun beating down on it. Mom made a tent over the top with a bandanna to help keep them from burning. We hope you can get some shots of the babies.

Oh, we love baby birdies and there are several nests around here of starlings.
That really is a pretty selfie sweet dovey!
That must be really cool to have a bird’s nest so close. My wife showed me a video yesterday from her niece who has a wreath hanging from the front door. Birds built a nest on top of the wreath and there were babies in the nest. The coolest thing was that the door has a window so they can watch the birds from inside. Of course, I don’t know how they get in and out of the house.
Good thing you saw the dove before opening the curtains! Can’t wait for a picture of the baby before he “takes flight.”
How nice to have a porch-sitter like that, though lately dad would disagree. He takes care of his boss’s house, and some feathered critters are, uh, pooping all over the front porch almost daily. Oh sure, he’s tried those stupid uselss spikes, pieces of fencing, etc. on the lights and ledges, all to no avail. You know, even though I’m most definitely not a “holder” (even though I can’t resist a nice warm lap) I surely get more hugs than I can handle between mom and dad. Whatever gets them through their day, you know what I’m saying?
Hope you get to see the little hatchling Dove when it comes out of its’ shell. Happy Sunday and we hope all of you have a fabulous day! Thanks for hosting Selfies – we all get a chance to strut our stuff!
That dove looks so serene sitting in her nest. We have a nest of mourning doves, too, but its on a tree branch, though I do not know how many eggs she is brooding.
Marvelous picture of the dove! Our kitties aren’t really huggers, either.
How sweet that selfie of the dove is. We send lots of purrs and prayers that the egg will hatch without any complications, and that the baby will be healthy and able to leave the nest. We enjoyed seeing your flashback of you and Dad Tom hugging Cooper Murphy and CJ. 🙂
We were both sure to hug Ava today. She does seem to enjoy it, most of the time. XO
