Sparks
You may be wondering why I selected this quote for today’s Spark. I started thinking about spring (which made this the perfect graphic). From there I moved to Easter, which took my mind to Lent. During Lent, most individuals fast or abstain from foods or other things they enjoy. But that is just one of three traditional practices. The other two are prayer and almsgiving. The latter is what brought me to this quote for my Spark.
Og Mandino
History of Sparks
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Kitties Blue and I ask for your continued prayers for Annie and her family as they try to reconcile this mess and get their lives back to normal.
Many of us believe in Annie’s vision: “If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”
Happy Color
The colorful art of Mt. Fuji, which I used as the background for today’s Spark, is from the app, Happy Color. This free app offers easy to difficult, color-by-number images with eight to nine new images added daily. I have it installed on my iPad and find it quite relaxing and satisfying, especially when I am feeling stressed and overwhelmed. if you like to color, I think you’ll enjoy it as well. (I am in no way affiliated with Happy Color or it’s developer.)
I love that quote!
Imagine what our world would be like if everyone practiced that way of living and being around others, including strangers.
It is kind of the way we work at the nursing home too…at least we try:)
Thanks for a good reminder!
Heartfelt … and I learned something too!
Beautiful spark. Purrs
That is a wonderful Spark! Yes, the world would be a better place if everyone thought about this every morning when they woke up. Maybe Ma would give me extra treaties then…..one can hope….
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
That is a great quote. I try to do something similar and think of people as a long lost sister or brother.
A beautiful post. Thanks for the introduction to Og. I am sad that Annie has been hacked. Prayers and blessings for you…
That is a wonderful spark and how we should all treat one another. We gave up ice cream and chocolate for Lent, but I will give this a try too. XO
That’s a wonderful Spark. We’ve never heard of Og Mandino before.
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau form Allie and paw pats and Headbonks to Sawyer from Sneezy (aka Noelle)
Mama used to read a lot of Og Mandino. That’s a very interesting quote.
I was hung up on ‘Og’…what kinda name is that?!? But, short for Augustine…I get it! See how silly one’s mind can be?!?
That truly is a wonderful Spark. If everyone lived like this the world would be a much better place.
Love your Spark. It would be a much kinder world if we all did this.
Have a fabulous day and week, Janet. Big hug to you and scritches to all the kitties. Extra lovies to Sawyer and Cooper Murphy. ♥
An excellent Spark and a beautiful background. The coloring app sounds fun, too! Hope all is well.
That is a most excellent Spark to live by, always!
What a great SPARK and I love the “background” you put the message on. It is a wonderful philosophy to immerse ourselves in. If we all followed it, it would be a kinder, more gentle world I’m sure.
Hugs, Pam
