Sparks
Uppermost in my mind lately is the appalling situation in Ukraine. That brought the word humanity to mind, which brought me to this quote from Joseph Addison.
I used one of Dad Tom’s photos of a sunflower, the national flower of Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion began the sunflower has become a worldwide symbol of solidarity for the country and its people.
Joseph Addison was a 17th-18th century, English essayist, poet, playwright and politician. With a friend, Richard Steele, he founded The Spectator magazine. His simple prose style marked the end of the mannerisms and conventional classical images of the 17th century.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Watched some news about the war yesterday, and I cried when watching the devastation, and the Ukrainian resistance to this illegal, unlawful war.
Prayers for all the innocents in Ukraine, and for this madness to stop.

Wonderful Spark. I tried to email Annie the other day and her email isn’t any good anymore. I checked on her blog and it’s gone too. I sure miss her.

My Mom’s SPARK today is for Ukraine too. It is desperately sad and we pray every day along with MOST of the rest of the world. Love that sunflower photo – it is a hopeful and happy symbol and we need all the positivity we can find in the world right now.
Hugs, Teddy (and Mom too)
A smile sure goes a long way to those who are privileged to see it. May there be many kind smiles to the innocents peeps caught in the midst of this human caused debacle and disaster.
