Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Kitties Blue and I enjoy Thursdays, as we get to participate in Teddy and Angel Sammy’s weekly poetry challenge. Occasionally we take a bit of poetic license with the inspiration photo they provide. Today, Lisbeth has joined the photo and become the subject of my poem. That’s her in the box to the left of the shopkeeper.
Shop Cat
Being a shop cat is a pretty fine job.
Making friends with customers
And keeping the area mouse free,
Brings frequent gifts of yummy treats.
And there’s lots of fun to be had,
Hiding on shelves behind the goods
Or knocking an item or two on the floor.
Plus the variety of boxes to explore
Makes this every cat’s dream pursuit.
The shopkeeper is a friendly sort—
A pushover when it comes to his cat.
Never getting mad when she’s a bit of a brat.
Each morning when they open for business,
They greet their customers together.
All-in-all they make a fine pair,
Enjoying each day that they share.

If you’d like to try writing some poetry, check out Two Spoiled Cats on Thursdays for the following week’s inspiration photo. And while you’re visiting, please read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Bridge, and it always gets an A+ from us. You can click on the poetry badge to go there now.
Thankful Thursday
On Thursdays we also like to share for what we are thankful. I am starting off this week. My thankfuls include the kindness of our readers who left comments for Dad Tom on his birthday post. He has left replies for each of you, which you can see by clicking here.
I am particularly thankful that a new season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has started on Amazon Prime. If you have Amazon Prime and haven’t seen it, it might be time for some binge watching, as long as you don’t mind some “HBO words.”
Cooper Murphy is thankful for earning another merit badge at Cat Scouts. He learned about Proboscis Monkeys. They live in Borneo and are endangered. He passed the quiz with a score of 100%.
Our final thankful this week comes from Sawyer, Dad Tom and me. After several weeks of having a seizure every six days, our little guy is at 10 days seizure free. We all are praying that he can extend this into many more days or even weeks.
As we are each week, everyone here at the Kitties Blue house, including the humans, are thankful for your friendship, support and kind comments. We do our best to keep you entertained, and we appreciate it every time you visit us.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate post on you blog for what you are thankful and then click on his badge to join the hop.
You greatly improved the photo. And I love the poem. We love Mrs. Maisel too. XO

We love the poem and the addition of Lisbeth to the photo. Very cute. As always, we keep Sawyer in our purrs and prayers. We’re also glad Dad Tom had a good birthday.
We enjoyed the Cat Scout class on the Proboscis monkeys. The video was sad in some places but we learned a lot.
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
As always, we love your poem and can just see a cat in every small shop! Also, thanks, Dad Tom for your reply! There were a lot of good wishes to answer. We also love the Mrs. Maisel show and are going to start watching it again as soon as the hubby gets a break from work and isn’t too tired to even sit in front of the TV!
We will quietly keep praying that Sawyer stays seizure-free….don’t want to mention the “S” word too loudly! Glad Dad Tom enjoyed his birthday messages. We also think your poem is fabulous – especially with the addition of certain pretty girl kitty in a box on the store counter!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, Sawyer, we hope so much this time will last without seizures. We think of you so often and your courage to get back home from a harrowing journey. Love from LL
We LOVE your poem! Its just great, and we can imagine Lisbeth being the pampered shop kitty!
How great that Sawyer is having a longer ‘grace period’, we pray it lasts.
We are thankful, too, that you are among those we call our friends, even though we are only virtual, sometimes I think we really do know eachother…and all of our blogging buddies.
