Thankful Thursday
Kitties Blue and I are thankful again this year to be participating in Remember Me Thursday® and #SeeTheLight, sponsored by the Helen Woodward Animal Center. It is a week from today, but a variety of options to participate are already available. You can enter your rescue pet’s story to win pet food and money for your favorite shelter or rescue or light a candle and share a photo and some sentiments about your rescued pet to shine a virtual light on the orphan pets who never found their families. We have already lit a candle for Sawyer, who we consider to be twice rescued. To go to the #RememberMeThursday website, click on the badge on our sidebar (opposite Sawyer’s photo).
Yesterday, Sawyer reminded our friends on Instagram about #RememberMeThursday and #SeeTheLight. Kitties Blue will be doing this everyday for the next week. (You can find us on Instagram at Kitties.Blue.)
Sawyer is participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. To join him, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on Brian’s badge.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
It’s Thursday so time for some poetry for the Two Spoiled Cats’ (Angel Sammy and Teddy) poetry challenge based on the inspiration photo below.
I had several false starts when it came to writing a poem this week. When I was a kid my grandpa took me fishing in Yosemite. I totally disliked it. I was bored just standing around and waiting for something to happen, which it never did. Though, my grandfather often caught fish, and grandma would cook it for the family, I wouldn’t eat it. She always made lamb chops for me. I tried to work off of those memories for today’s poem, but I had no luck, so today is a cat-written and cat-themed haiku instead.

If you don’t participate on Thursdays because you think you are not good at writing poetry or have never tried it, check out Sammy and Teddy’s web-site. You’ll find an inspiration photo for next week and you can take the next seven days crafting something. It’s got tore better than what I did this week. Anyhoo…to get to Two Spoiled Cats, click on the poetry badge. While visiting, please check out Angel Sammy’s poem. He always writes a terrific one.
Birthday Celebration Tomorrow
Please join us tomorrow at a party to celebrate Misty May and Angel Mau’s seventeenth birthday. We are hoping Mau will get a day pass to join us as well as bake a cake to share with all of you. Paws crossed we’ll see you tomorrow.
Cute poem, I don’t like fish either. Thanks for spreading the word on pet adoption. I will be here for the b’days. XO
Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We love Remember Me Thursday. We hope you’ll join our blog hop next week.
I need to probably do this too. I’ve not posted about Angel Little Bit in a long time.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
Love the picture of Sawyer, and his twice-rescued story! I think your cats wrote a pretty cool haiku!
That’s so true Sawyer, you really are twice rescued!
Sawyer, I was so happy to see your handsome face today. We hope lots of bloggers participate.
Yum…lamb chops!!!!!
love and whisker kisses,
Noelle
I totally get the fishing and eating and cooking fish thing. My pups get canned tuna or sardines when they are eating fish.
Love your haiku! We know lots of peeps who don’t like fish BUT my peeps and me LOVE it. Although if he had a chance I think my Dad would choose lamb over fish. HAHA We will be joining in the Remember Me celebration next week but will STILL do Poetic Thursday and Thankful Thursday as well in one gigantic post. We’ll see you tomorrow for the birthday celebration!
Hugs, Teddy and Mom
Oh, Sawyer, how thankful we are every day for your return. A miracle for all of us. Stay safe and well and HOME from now on, cuddled and snuggled as you should be, always.
I bet Dalton and Benji could write interesting stories for that cause…both are rescues from different parts of Texas, and we live in Michigan!
Sorry your fishing experience were not much fun. My dad took us out n a row boat…and to this day I remember thinking, I didn’t know you even knew how to row a boat!! We would catch lots of fish but always put them back into the lake.
