Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Check out this adorable photo Angel Sammy selected for us to write a poem about this week. A happy little girl to start the new year was the perfect choice.
Roller Derby Queen
I may be only three
And just learning to skate
But in my dreams
I’m a roller derby queen.
I have a cool nickname
Like Curly, the Crusher, or
The Blonde Basher.
I have a thunderbolt tattoo
On my keister to cover
Bruises always present.
I’ve bedazzled my skates
To give my uniform flare
And added a bright pink
Streak to my hair.
When I told my mom
About my dream,
She turned totally green.
I feared she’d take away
My brand new skates,
Hoping I’d dream about staying
Home and baking cakes.
She calls me her princess
And wants me always
To be sweet and girlie,
But I’ll keep dreaming
About a life of adventure
As I skate on the driveway.

Thankful Thursday
We are excited to welcome in 2019. Last year was not terrific, so we know this one has to be better. We have several things for which to be thankful this week.
Our main thankful is that Sawyer is now two-weeks seizure free. The three-med combo seems to be working. He has his annual check-up with Dr. Neel this afternoon. I’m sure he won’t be happy about that. Will the PTU Pooper strike again?
We were fortunate to be a “Right Guesser” on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. This cool badge was the prize.
We are grateful to have reached our 1,800th post. I never could have predicted that this lady with the short attention span and propensity for procrastination could have made it this far!
Finally, Kitties Blue, Dad Tom and I send our thanks to those who commented on yesterday’s post remembering Lily Olivia on the one-year anniversary of her death.

There are certainly quite a lot of particulars like that to take into consideration. That could be a great level to bring up. I provide the thoughts above as common inspiration but clearly there are questions just like the one you convey up where an important thing shall be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged round things like that, however I am positive that your job is clearly identified as a good game. Each girls and boys feel the influence of only a second抯 pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.
Enjoyed the great poem and so glad that Sawyer is doing well.
Great poem and such wonderful news about Sawyer. Our PTU pooper struck Monday when he had to go to the vet for a thyroid check. 🙂 XO
We are so happy Sawyer is seizure free. We continue to send prayers and purrs for this to continue. And we loved your poem, it made us meow out loud!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Oliver
What a fun poem! That is one happy Roller Derby Queen. 🙂 And congrats on 1800 posts. What a milestone!
We loved your poem! That little girl sure did inspire everyone this week.
We hope Sawyer has a good visit with the VET and that he isn’t a PTU pooper.

I love your poems. You do them so very well.
Congratulations on your 1800 posts. That’s impressive.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
Just tell Mom that you can be a roller-derby queen AND bake cakes! Those chubby legs on the child in the photo…so cute!
That really was a great poem! Hey, hooray for Sawyer. A poop in the PTU is better than a seizure on the floor. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your poem today – you absolutely captured the “flavor” of the cute photo which I think is one of my all time faves from Poetic Thursdays. This little girl is having such a blast – I hope her whole life is like that. If only we humans could keep that feeling going but it’s not easy is it!! We are thrilled about Sawyer’s successful meds regime so far and hope and pray he stays seizure-free. Happy Thursday.
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)
Pawsome poem!
