After sharing a photo from Mom’s Christmas in 1951, we thought we should give equal time to our dad. His photo is from two years earlier than Mom’s. He is about the same age as she was in her photo: 2 3/4 years old.
That’s Dad in the fire engine and hat. He was a cutie, but check out those ears! Standing behind him are his brother Bill (Wow, those ears must run in the family.) and sister Bonnie. He was the baby in the family and was called Tommy.
Unlike our mom’s black and white photo from 1951, this is in color as Dad Blue shot slides instead of photos.
Like Mom’s Christmas stocking from the 1951 photo that now hangs from our mantle, the clock on the mantle in this photo is on a cabinet in our living room.
The holidays are all about family, love and traditions. Our humans were fortunate to have all of those things as they were growing up. And they now have items in our home that help them remember even without family around.
Well, of course, we are their family now, and we do our best to help them establish new traditions and memories.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season filled with family, love and memorable traditions.

Isn’t it great to have so many precious memories to help us through each of these special times?!
Our meowmy loves seeing these old images, it brings back her own memories quite vividly.
Lovely happy photo! It’s super to see these old pics xxx
What a fun flashback. And an adorable photo. Big ears run in the Mom’s family too! 🙂 Sampy sends a zillion million kisses to Astrid, and we all send lots of love!

What a fun photo and memories when your dad was a little tyke! Thanks for sharing!
That is a lovely photo. It is nice to be able to look back and remember the way things used to be.
Oh, I love memories like these. I wish that I had pictures of this kind of memory, but no one did that when I was growing up. This is priceless. Merry Christmas.
What a cool memory. I’d like to ride in that firetruck. ~Wally

What a terrific photo. Love that it is in color and it tells a wonderful story!
That is a beautiful photo. Such a simpler time when kids were happy to get dolls and not all electronic gifts.
Enjoyin’ your nostalgic photos. Our human told us she is tempted to follow suit! Happy Holidays to you!
What a great photo! Your Dad looks happy at the wheel of that fire engine!!

Even though my human does not have childhood memories to look back on fondly, she’s happy that she has created her own family, and her own traditions.
Merry Christmas to the entire Blue household, furry or not. I enjoyed seeing your trip down memory lane. 🙂
I love you sharing these photos and memories. Mom says all her old photos are in the garage in a huge, heavy box from our move.
Love those photos from another time. And Happy Days of the Season to you too !
