Sunday Selfies: Week #107
First, I must apologize: I promised a guest host for today, but I had forgotten that the 28th is reserved for Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. So, our guest will be here next week. This week we are featuring the nine Kitties Blue and one honorary Kitty Blue who have their angel wings. Each are featured on our The Felines page as well where you can read their short bios.
Here are the nine who came before.
Each had his or her own unique personality, and they all hold a special place in my heart. I will love them always. I have a little memorial for our angels in one of our backyard gardens, which I will share on another day.
And here is our honorary Kitty Blue, Nylablue, who is also a beautiful angel. We were so honored to have her as part of our family. Losing her was like losing one of my own kitties. She too is featured on The Felines page.
We have lost many furry friends during the four years we have been blogging. You can see many of them on our Remembering Friends page. We think of them fondly everyday but especially today.
Though a bit unconventional, this is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Please feel free to include one of your angels in the hop this week if you like. This, of course, is not a requirement but rather an opportunity to share. As always the link to add your selfie and the code to include the hop on your blog are below. And also, as always, if you decide to do the latter, please include our badge or link back to The Cat on My Head. If you have any trouble linking up, leave us a comment. I am always happy to add your selfie.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day was created by Deb Barnes (Zee and Zoey’s Cat Chronicles) in memory and honor of her kitty, Jazz. We are honored to display her badge at the beginning of our post. She too is having a blog hop today. Click on the link above to add your angel(s) to her hop.
Have a blessed Sunday as you remember those you have lost but will hold forever in your heart.
Such beautiful angels. I have so many angel memories. They leave such a huge pawprint on our hearts.

So many beautiful faces to remember. And I can’t help but be sad that you’ve experienced so much loss in just 4 years. I hope you’re free of such sadness this year.

What a lovely tribute to the angel Kitties Blue. We didn’t do a Rainbow Bridge post but we’re remembering those who came before us too.
Such beautiful angel kitties! Unfortunately, until I came along, the Human was not much of a picture-taker so pictures of the Kitties Who Came Before are very few and far between, but the Human loved them, one and all–a special shout-out to Mr. Teeth, the most soft and silky lovey kitty there ever was! XOXOXO to all of you and your Mom too!
A beautiful tribute to your babies. They were all lucky to have you as their kitty mom. <3
What a wonderful tribute! My Lady has 5 kitty angels who were loved very much.
Purrrrrrrrrrrs, Spike William
Such a lovely tribute of the beloved kitties who came before. Thank you for loving them so much, and for sharing them with us.
We had planned on participating in Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, but then Zoe had her little episode. She seems to be doing well, so thank COD for that.
Hugs!
What a host of sweet angels surround you, Miss Janet and all of your furmily. You have many, many memories locked in your heart to take out and treasure whenevfur you need to remember.
We send lots of purrs and dog-guy adds some licks.
Such lovely kitties, all! (And Madison was arrestingly beautiful!)
Purrs ….
*head bowed* to remember those who left way too soon. xoxo
We always think about those furbabies no longer with us physically, but today was a very special day to remember them in a special way.
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful angels with us. Madison looks very much like our Sweet Pea who passed away in September of 2012. Sweet Pea did not have blue eyes, but otherwise they look so much alike.
I somehow missed that this was Remembrance Day …but I am enjoying meeting everyone else’s angel kitties and doggies.
I am back to clarify your question about aspirin. It is toxic to cats because their bodies don’t break it down properly, so it takes a long time to clear the body which can lead to a build up. However it can be given but only in very low doses. Our vet stressed to me that it MUST be the 75mg low dose aspirin, and only once every 3 days for a limited time. Three days gives it chance to clear the body before the next dose is given. Hopefully Flynn will only need one more dose and this is beneficial for him if he has had a blood clot.
After speaking to our vet again tonight, he is slightly more hopeful that it was not an embolism that he suffered.
What beautiful angels. Purrs to you as you remember them all today.
We are late but aim to comment on two post for each blog to make u for missing last week.
We love your memorial post. We wish this was a week later though. Peanut died 5th September and Dash on the 6th. We don’t want to honour them so early but…..
Such a wonderful tribute to those who have come before us…
What a lovely way to remember those that came before. All such beautiful furbabies. Thank you for sharing them with us.
you were sooo blessed to have so many kitties in your life! I have only had two!
What a beautiful photo montage. It’s amazing how in the blogging world, we come to feel the love and loss of all the kitties of the world. Purrs of love from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang. Thank you for sharing news of Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day too.

Dezi and Raena
Not sure if this will go through but such a lovely tribute, and to Nylablues too,xx Speedy
I chose to not participate in the rememvoday cuz we don’t have photos of some of our before me kitties. Your tribute is lovely.
What a beautiful group! So much love there! I love that you have a Remembering Friends page too, that is such a sweet idea. I don’t usually write posts about our blog friends’ losses, because I’m afraid I’ll miss someone and don’t want hurt feelings; but maybe I will start something like that, because I still always feel like I want to do something special for them.
What beautiful kitties to remember, we are proud to join the hop today. Purrs, Rhette
I love the idea of ‘remembrance day’!
Fine words in deed, in celebration of even finer and irreplaceable companions, friends and family. gentle purrs ERin
We combined both blog hops into one post today as we remember our Angels Abby & Gracie.
Beautiful tribute to those who came before.
The Florida Furkids with tons of love and kisses to Mau from his WIFE Allie!
Beautiful tribute to your Angels. We are going to do our selfies tomorrow, we weren’t clever enough to combine the 2.
Sweet tribute to those who are at the Bridge.
That was a most loving tribute. Hugs.
What a great tribute to your furever felines. We are so happy to be able to share our special kitties that have passed on as we reflect on this very special Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day.
Beautiful picture and sweet tribute to those who have gone before. Purrs
That is a nice memorial. Our pets give us so much joy that is then followed by sadness but I wouldn’t trade it for no joy and no sadness.
I didn’t know it was Rainbow Bridge Remembrance day or I would have some photos of my angels up. But Toonces, Scrappycat, Smudge, Lil Bit, and Mickey are always in my heart.
What beautiful angels! I love that you have a memorial for them in your garden. That is such a wonderful way to remember them. Thank you for hosting this wonderful hop, as always, but also for sharing your sweet angels with us!
Beautiful, remembering Pardner, Spooky and Romeo
Beautiful tribute. All sweet angels 🙂

We did two posts today- one for Sunday Selfies and a second one for Rainbow Bridge Remembrance……we think it’s lovely to have a day set aside for “those who came before”………your post today is sweet and touching…..
Hugs, Sammy and Mom Pam
This is a lovely remembrance to those who came before. My mum was going to do a post for our Angels and with all that is going on, she totally forgot to do it.
It’s certainly better for them where they are now, instead of suffering and being sick with us. Anyway they will always stay in our hearts and there are always stories to tell about them to remember !
Purrs to everyone who remembers today.
What a beautiful tribute to all your Angels. Unfortunately we haven’t met one of your former kitties, but we remember Sweet Nylablue. She has a special place in our hearts too. I have to go, it’s introoder time, so I have to get out of here. Soft Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
Beautiful tribute to each of the unique kitties who you’ve shared a life with.
Every Fur baby is precious, thanks for reminding us of these beauties, sure do miss Nylablue,xx Speedy
Your house has held such love! Thank you for sharing those who are waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Love,
Gus, Jaq, and Pearl
Such precious little faces. They live in our hearts forever.
What a loving remembrance! We posted a funny selfie of Mom and Angel Prancer Pie to lighten her mood.
Hope all of you have an easy Sunday.
XOXOXO
We think it is wonderful that you have been graced with so many felines! Mommy should sit down and count hers out…21 in total (so far)! Mommy says the only place she doesn’t mind dusting is her Remembrance Shelf, with photos and ashes of all the ones who came before. Every kitty is precious.
