Thoroughly Poetic Thursday – A Sheba® Review
Today is Sammy’s (onespoiledcat) Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, and the prompt letter for our poems this week is “Q.” As we had a review to do for some newer foods from Sheba®, we decided to combine our poem and review with a new poem, entitled, “The Quest.”
The Quest
When on a quest for yummy noms,
New food we often get to test.
Some of these can sure be bombs,
While others can outshine the rest.
Sheba® sent food and treats to try:
Perfect Portions and Meaty Sticks.
We loved them both, we cannot lie
And ate them all up super quick.
Our mom was surprised and amazed
When she saw the food was a stew,
As by this type we’re rarely phased.
If not pate, we’re unenthused.
The Meaty Tender Sticks were a treat
With no fake flavors or colors
Corn, soy or wheat, just yummy real meat.
This kind of thing pleases mothers.
Kitties Blue give Sheba® an A + grade.
We hope our folks buy it at the store.
We think it’s some of the best food made
And are certain…we want some more!
We tested the Perfect Portions Savory Salmon and Chicken Entrée Cuts in Gravy. We are huge fans of salmon, which Mom is certain had something to do with our lapping up these noms.
Ingredients for the Salmon and Chicken Entrée:
Chicken Broth, Salmon, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Meat By-Products, Poultry By-Products, Tapioca Starch, Minerals (Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Copper Sulfate), Natural Flavor, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Added Color, Fish Oil (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Xanthan Gum, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex [Source of Vitamin K Activity]), Salt, Taurine, DL-Methionine
The Perfect Portions Cuts come in six different flavors offering something for every kitty.
The Meaty Tender Sticks we tested were the turkey flavor. They come in a five pack with each stick individually wrapped for freshness. They are soft and easy to break into bite-sized pieces; though, Astrid thought they were just fine in stick form.
The ingredients in those are:
Turkey, Pork, Pork Liver, Chicken, Pork Skin, Brewers Dried Yeast, Sugar, Animal Plasma, Salt, Yeast Extract, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Lactic Acid, Potassium Sorbate (A Preservative), Glycine, Calcium Lactate, Taurine, Rosemary Extract, Sodium Ascorbate (A Preservative), Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement
The Meaty Tender Sticks also are available in six flavors as well as in 11 stick multi-packs in chicken and salmon flavors.
Both products are available from traditional retailers, on-line retailers and pet stores nationwide.
Disclaimer: We received one two-pack of Perfect Portions and one packet of Meaty Tender Treats directly from Sheba® for our fair and honest review. The opinions are strictly those of Kitties Blue based on their taste test.
Sheba’s Perfect Portions is the *only* wet food Mudpie will eat on a daily basis! We haven’t tried the meat sticks yet though. Pawsome review!
Very creative way to state how great those noms are. The she type likes those because they are the purrrRRRrrrfect size to take on the kayak toy.
Shadow, Stealth, and Sarah
Wow, that was awesome! A poem that is also a review. So creative and talented, sweet friends. 🙂
Very clever…and tasty, too!
That was some good yum with a fun review!
Great poem and review in one -very clever 🙂
What a poetic review!
What a great job to be nom tester.
That was cool, my cat like Sheba Perfect Portions and meat sticks, too.
That was a great way of using the letter Q. I rarely read reviews because the items aren’t often available in the UK, but I read this one.
Sheba is one of my favourites too, but I get gently simmered flakes in gravy.
Well, this was brilliant! You could review a stinky old sock like this and I’d be all for it. You know, I was at the pet store yesterday and saw those Sheba meaty stick treats and almost grabbed some, but didn’t because I wasn’t sure that my furbabies would like them. I guess I’ll have to go back now and get some! Thank you for sharing this pawesome review with us!
Very creative review, Kitties Blue! XO
That was the bestest poem, er, review ever! I want to try some!
Excellent “Q” poem today kiddos! A Quest is great when it comes to foodables – not so great if it’s “Cat Scouts related” (haha). Anyway, thanks for pawticipating in my poetry day. Looks like that SHEBA food passed the taste test at your house for sure!
Hugs, Sammy
Great poem and review. You girls really liked the Sheba food 🙂 I had to cut the sticks up in tiny pieces for Bear to eat … he refused the fist couple tries (whole and cut in 1/4 in pieces).
My kitties LOVE the new Sheba treats. We got them free (through the Kroger’s Free Friday promotion that they do) and they INHALED their treats quickly! It’s easy to say it was a favorite. It’s a shame because I have several bags of cat treats to go through before I can buy them more! But we know which treat we’ll be investing in now.
How fun was that to do your review/quest in a poetic form!! Minko used to be able to eat Sheba and he enjoyed them too, but now something in there makes him have bloody stools and diarrhea, but we don’t know which ingredient. Glad this was a hit with your kitties!
Now, that was really cool – a review poem!!
