Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
On Thursdays, we like to join our friends, Teddy and Angel Sammy, and write a poem based on an inspiration photo they provide on the previous Thursday. This week’s photo is so darn cute. I wish I could have written a better poem to go with it. But sometimes the photo really doesn’t need any words, and I believe this is one of those. Regardless, my poem is below.
Cheeky Little Pony
Such a cheeky little pony…
What do you suppose he wants?
Some attention, a sugar cube?
He is more the young girl’s size
And just as cute as she is,
So why does she ignore him?
He’d surely offer her a ride
And hear her giggle with delight.
Maybe tomorrow she’ll show him
The affection he craves.

Thankful Thursday
Kitties Blue are thankful that the Roundup is past and won’t be revisited for another year. Everyone got a clean bill of health; though, Dr. Neel confirmed something Dad Tom and I suspected. Misty May is mostly deaf. For the past few months she has been much more vocal than usual. And her meowing has become increasingly louder and more demanding. She also is not responding when we call her name.
Here she is with Dr. Neel and tech Alexa.
I am grateful to have daffodils and tulips blooming with the dogwood trees beginning to bloom. But I am even happier and more thankful that the peonies and hostas we dug up and potted when construction began survived the winter and are healthy and growing like crazy!
We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. To join, post for what you are grateful on your blog and then click on the badge below to go to the blog hop.
We are so happy that your garden is blooming. Dad hopes to have one by the end of the summer. Your poem is really super too.

Oh I loves that poem!!! I am sorry abouts losing the hearing Misty Mae, butts I knows you will adapt, and be just fine! (I pretend not to hear Ma when she calls me sometimes….shhhh, don’t tells) I am so glads that everyone is a-okays and won;t needs to see the vettie for another year! (they sure can poke and prod and put thingies where thingies shouldn’t go…ya knows what I means???
Okays, Ma was shocked to hear you lived here in San Jose??! Ma was born and raised here, and SO wouldn’t be able to afford to live here if it weren’t for the that. Where in SJ did you live? We live on the west side on the border with Campbell/Los Gatos/Saratoga.
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Excellent poem. That was a fun prompt. XO
That’s too bad about Misty May. But we’re sure she’ll do okay. Cute poem, too.
Binga is VERY hard of hearing, and Boodie is almost certainly mostly deaf. With them, it’s an age thing.
misty; buddy boom loozed hiz hearin all sew; we R sorree to lurn ewe haz lost yurz but glad everee onez chek up went well ~ 🙂 ♥
How fabulous that the vet comes to visit! Angel would be terrified, but at least there would be no PTU imprisonment AND a car rides! Da Boyz would be happy, no matter what.
Love your poem. Always do.
It’s good that the vet comes to your mom. Less stress for your babies and for you. I remember when our Little Bit lost her hearing. She didn’t get more vocal though.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday, Janet. Lovies and scritches to all your kitties and especially Cooper Murphy and Sawyer. ♥
Sorry that misty May is deaf, but cats seem to cope with most things and their other senses heighten. That is a sweet poem.
Mom’s woofie, Katie, lost her hearing too. We’re pretty sure Katie never realized anything was different. We furkids are pretty resilient.
We’re loving the round-up photos!!
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
Such a cute poem! It’s okay Misty May, shout it out sweetie. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We’re sorry about Misty May but cats are so darn resilient – her “answer” to not hearing well is being louder herself I guess! LOL Anyway, glad all your crew are healthy – that’s the important thing. We love the poem too – ours is similar……the little pony just wants a minute of the little girl’s time – is that asking too much? No!
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)
Pawsome poem?
And if ya get louder when you go deaf – momma are REALLY in for it if I ever go, since I’m incredibly vocal now!
We meant pawsome poem! – Not as a question, MOL!
