Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday again and time to enter Teddy and Angel Sammy’s poetry challenge. I look forward to doing this every week. If you are not familiar with Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, click on the badge at the left to read more about it. In a nutshell, however, each Thursday the boys post a photo to act as inspiration for a poem to be posted the following week.
This week’s photo as well as my poem are below.

I only wrote a haiku. There is nothing I can say about pandas that would mean more than looking at them. I will, however, tell you a bit about my experience with pandas.
I adore them. At one time my vanity license plate was PANDAS. (Now it is PRRFCT).
I could watch them for hours, and have at the National Zoo in D.C. back in the 80s. Dad Tom and I visited them often, and we both have taken oodles of photos of them. On a frigid and snowy day one winter, we were invited into the back of the Panda House, as no one else was at the zoo. I was two inches from Ling Ling with just a chain link fence between us. I would have loved to touch and pet her, but knew not to do so. Pandas have very powerful jaws!
My long-time dream is to visit the Panda breeding grounds in Chengdu, China. Dad Tom has been there without me. That makes me very sad and jealous, but I know there will be no trips to China for either of us in the future.
If you think you would like to try writing a poem for next week, click on the poetry badge. You’ll find next week’s inspiration photo as well as Angel Sammy’s panda poem. Each week he sends his A+ poem to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge, and it is not to be missed.
Thankful Thursday
We also are joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian.
Sawyer had a seizure on Saturday and another on Tuesday. Though these were very close together, neither was a gran mal. We cannot remember the last time he had one that wasn’t. Less severe seizures are a blessing, and Dad Tom and I are thankful and pray this might be a trend.
We also are thankful that Dr. Neel has rescheduled the roundup for this upcoming Monday. Kitties Blue do not know this and will not be given advance notice.
Finally, we remain thankful that we continue to be healthy and, to our knowledge, so do our friends and family.
To join the Thankful Thursday blog hop, post for what you are thankful on your blog, then click on the badge below to go to Brian’s and enter your link.
Stay healthy guys! Someone in our complex tested positive so we’re on edge. Glad Sawyer’s seizures have lessened but hope they stop altogether.
Sending purrs and hugs for Sawyer. Those pandas look like cuddle magnets. Stay safe and well.
Nice poem. Sorry Sawyer had more seizures, but glad they were not grand mal. XO
Purrayers and POTP to Sawyer – and to all for the upcoming “roundup/”
Who doesn’t love pandas !
I’m glad Sawyer didn’t have gran mal seizures. He is always in my prayers.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. My best to your siblings and your wonderful mom. ♥
Great Haiku. How cool to be that close to Ling Ling!!
We don’t like ANY seizures but are glad that Sawyer’s are not as bad. We love him so much.

Pandas are so adorable! We will all be so thankful for less Sawyer seizures. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I don’t like to hear that Sawyer has any seizure but I’m glad that he seems to be a little better than usual.
Any change in the severity of Sawyer’s seizures is a win, right?
I adore Red Pandas; they are smaller, rust-colored critters, who hang out high in the trees. All pandas are so cute, don’t you think?
Pandas are just so unique, special and beautiful! Sounds wonderful to have had the opportunities to be around them a bit. I am sorry that Sawyer suffered more seizures but grateful that they weren’t gran mal. Glad to hear you all are safe. Same here. Praying it stays that way!
Love your panda haiku. Mom has always been a huge fan of those great big “stuffies” too and many trips to the National Zoo as well. She and Dad haven’t been there in FOREVER as you just don’t go to downtown DC anymore at least EASILY! Anyway, this photo was so perfect we just had to use it for Poetic Thursday. We think the one for NEXT week will be “interesting” !!!! So happy that Sawyer is having less awful seizures – he sure looks comfy and cozy and our prayer is that he won’t have any more of those BIG seizures ever again.
Love, Teddy and Mom
We have been to the National Zoo, too…many times at least in the past when hubby;s Mom was still living…our boys loved it too…and the pandas sure were the main attraction!
We have a smaller zoo here (Binder Park), but our pandas are the cute ‘red’ ones…they are somehow more looking like raccoons with the wrong clothes on, MOL!
Glad Sawyer did not have grand mal seizures. Purrs for him…and for all as you approach Round Up Day.
