We ♥ squirrels at our house. We have two that visit almost everyday and a third that comes occasionally. One of our three bird feeders is especially for the squirrels. They also enjoy the fruit of our ornamental pear trees. We can be entertained for hours and hours by their antics and silliness.
The squirrels (or squirties, as we like to call them) don’t even care that we watch them since most of us are confined to our catio. They ignore us and continue munching with delight their sunflower seeds, even when we are just inches away.
We know that some of our followers are not fond of squirrels and that some actually loathe them. We also know they can be very destructive, but for kitty amusement value, they cannot be beat.
As we did last year, we dedicate this post to our mom’s friend, Mary Jane, a true squirrel lover.
Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
P.S. We will not do our usual Wordless Wednesday post as this is publishing so late in the day. See you all the following day for “Thankful Thursday.”
We have a few grey squirrels who visit our garden. Love this xx
Squirrels are so fun to watch! Cute!

As I live in a built up area in London we don’t see many squirrels, although I have spotted the odd one speeding through the back garden occasionally. They are so fast!
As an indoor cat I can’t chase after it. And if I could my mum wouldn’t like it if I caught it 🙂

Squirrel TV is a lot of fun!xx Speedy
The Human’s godson saved an injured squirrel and nursed it back to health and it stuck around for a long time and used to come back and visit him. Eventually, though, he struck out on his own and went off to live his squirrely life. That boy really loved that squirrel though!
We love those little rascals too, but don’t see many of them on our kitty tv.
Wow, what a cool post! Love your squirrel collage, just gorgeous and we had no idea there was a Squirrel Appreciation Day, very cool! We are very fond of squirrels but have none where we live now and I miss watching them.
xoxo

They are mocking you guys! I know they are.
Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day! Great pictures.
I LOVE squirrels! I know they can cause damage, but we love and feed them anyway. At least they come to all the bird feeders we have. And we are fortunate to have mature trees, which means we also have squirrel nests that sway in the trees high above our home! And of course they thoroughly entertain all the kitties who watch and chatter at the windows.
We don’t have squirrels here in Australia either, but I used to love watching them when I lived in London. Thanks for sharing the photos.
We have a squirrel friend who helps rescue the wee beasties! They are magical creatures we think but here in NZ there aren’t any * sigh *

We have one squirrel visitor who comes every so often to eat from the birdie feeder but we’d love for more to come so we can watch Squirrel TV!
I have a great relationship with squirrels, I watch them and drool as they scurry around the yard…
mind you I have no idea what I would do with one if I ever got my paws on it but…. one can have a rich fantasy life…

I like squirrels too! They have provided much amusement for all of us – especially the cats. I actually saw one once walking across a phone line (or electric wire) carrying a full sized orange in its mouth! That was a sight. I’ve also watched a momma squirrel heroically rescue one of her baby squirrels that had wandered out of the nest and was dangling from a tree branch. I stood underneath waiting to catch the baby if it fell.
We love your squirrels gallery ! Purrs
Birdie FUDS! Silly spell correct.
Just mommy pays a lot of money for the birdie fuss and the squirrels run the birdies off and eat all the fuds. But I love to watch Squirrel TV.
We is glad you has so many squirrels to watch! We thinks that would be lots of fun 🙂
We love squirrels and think they are very sweet, clever and mischievous! They like to eat our bird food and we don’t mind at all. There is plenty to go around! 🙂
the critters in the cottage xo
We love watching squirrels and chipmunks. We have a door that is all glass and we love to sit and watch them. Cali has a pet chipmunk. He sits in front of the glass door and teases her and she talks to him. The squirrels don’t tease us they just run around and entertain us. Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
I’m rather fond of chasing squiggles, if that counts lol
She forgot squirrel appreciation day…….wonder why?????? Squirrel TV is the best because then the back door opens and you get to chase them over here but we think watching them from the Catio is cool too. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
Our human loves squirrels. Before she became a cat lady, she was a squirrel lady. She fed the squirrels that lived in the old oak tree behind the house she used to live in.
Sadly we don’t have any squirrels in our house/yard because there’s a gang of feral/outside cats that patrol the area.
We love squirrels! We’ve heard that they’re delicious! MOL!
The cat before me used to EAT squirrels!
We love squirrels here. And we certainly appreciate them every day. 🙂
We don’t appreciate the squirrels eating all the birdies food. But they are fun to watch!
We never heard of squirrel appreciation day. What a great idea. We appreciate watching the squirrel channel on the cat TV!
We loves our Squirrel TV, we could watch for hours. As long as they stop trying to take over our blog we won’t swat them. Of course with our mama’s screen name it’s obvious she wouldn’t let us do that.
We think what’s almost as entertaining is when we see mommy run after one of them telling them to “drop that tomato!” Heeee!!
I do appreciate my squirrels too but keep forgetting to tell them!
WOW!!! Your squirlies are HUGE!
Ours are small and red,run around a lot,and eat the stuff Mummy Janey puts out for them. Squirlie TV is fab!
The REAL Maple Syrup Mob xxxxx
We like squirrels here too and one pan of bird seed is sitting on the patio just for them or any other animal that happens to wander through. They are fun to watch.
I always post for Squirrel Appreciation Day. We love them here, too. We actually feed them in their “own area”, and welcome them at the birdfeeders, too. They cohabitate with birds, naturally. What’s not to love?
I absolutely ADORE squirrels and usually blog about them on Squirrel Appreciation Day but dropped the ball this year.
I dislike intensely when I hear people refer to them as “tree rats” or “loathe” them. I know they cause damage, but they are part of God’s world and should be cared for like all animals should be. They are super intelligent, always busy…….adorable!!!!
I used to feed a ton of them at my apartment/condo complex til I got in trouble because they moved into the attic of our building. They were so smart that one would literally sit up and raise his paws to me begging for food. I just LOVE THEM!
