Thankful Thursday
I am thankful that I had my stitches out last Friday and now am in my big, old, orthopedic boot. I can take it off at night to sleep, which means I am finally getting some rest.

Me in my boot with nurse Sawyer keeping my good foot warm.
With the virus spiraling out of control again, Dad Tom and I are extremely grateful to remain well.
Sawyer and I are joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. If you would like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and link up.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Kitties Blue and I like sharing our thankfuls on Thursday, but we especially like writing a poem for Teddy and Angel Sammy’s poetry challenge. Here is the inspiration photo the Two Spoiled Cats provided this week followed by my poem.
Determination
Racing with a friend can be fun:
Waiting on the line for the starter’s gun,
To cranking as fast as we can,
To maybe collect a medal at the end.
We don’t need legs to excel,
Just determination to do well.
And even should we come in last,
We know we will have had a blast!

If you’ve never written a poem, I suggest you check out Teddy and Angel Sammy’s blog (click on the badge below) on Thursdays for the photo for the following week’s poem. Then check out Shadow Poetry where you can find information and instructions for writing every type of poem.
And don’t forget to check out Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge, and he is a masterful poet.
Petlibro Giveaway
On Tuesday we shared our review of the Petlibro Automatic Pet Water Fountain. Petlibro gave us a fountain to give away to one of our readers. If you missed the post, click here and leave a comment to be entered in a random drawing. Entries close and 5 p.m. ET on Saturday. Winner will be announced on our Sunday Selfies post.
We get tested two times a week where I work (A Nursing Home)…so far I have remained negative. A Blessing considering how vulnerable that kind of population is, and myself with age and health issues as well…so we too are thankful! Also because Hubby had his surgery and is now getting better…albeit VERY slowly…
Glad you and Tom are remaining safe and well…and glad you had those stitches out and have been upgraded with your orthopedic foot-gear!
That poem made me look again at the pic, I knew they were special cyclists, but I hadn’t even noticed they were amputees! Maybe cause of the work I do, I see so many peeps in wheelchairs that I look at the faces and the person for who they are, not what/why they are. Thanks for opening my eyes, LOL!
And by the way, your poem was fun and cheerful!! Loved it!
I’m glad you’re on the mend!
With Sawyer giving you such good care you will be up and about in no time. We are so glad we are all well too. Stay safe friends
With Sawyer’s help your foot is progressing well. Glad to hear it.
Now your poem. It said so much in few words….a top drawer poem. Thanks for it, Janet.
Jean
Sounds like you’re making progress in healing and Sawyer is being very supportive. Great poem…. a skill I completely lack!
I’m so happy you’re getting some rest and it’s good to see Sawyer helping you relax.
I hope you had a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
That was a really good poem and a really sweet Nurse Sawyer! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It is good that you can get to sleep at night now. Sawyer is a very good nurse.
What a super poem……when we found this photo we fell in love with it – the look passing between the couple – even if they’re strangers (which we don’t think they are!)…..it’s lovely. Thanks for writing such a great poem for this photo!!! Next week’s will be a “hoot” we think. Nice that Nurse Sawyer is protecting your other foot – a warm kitty on the foot is nice medicine!
Hugs, Teddy
Noelle is so proud of Sawyer being such a good nurse.

Sawyer is just repaying you for all the good nursing you have given him,
Great poem. Glad you got the boot removed and you have such good kitty nurses. XO
With Sawyer taking care of you, we bet you’ll heal fast! Sending purrs…..
