Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Another Thursday means another poem for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday hosted by our dear friends, Angel Sammy and Teddy, from Two Spoiled Cats. The inspiration photo for this week’s poem is a scene I never want to experience. And my poem reflects that.
Not for Me!
I’ve always hated crowds.
They make me anxious.
Today crowds are scary.
Is a bomb-toting terrorist
Lurking behind a pillar
Or a crazy person with an
automatic weapon waiting
to open fire and kill many?
Even if these travelers are going
to some exotic, fabulous place,
I will stay home, cuddle the cats
And emerse myself in a book.

I truly do not like crowds. The worst crowd I was ever a part of was in Atlanta in 1996 when Dad Tom and I worked at the Olympics. There were “wall-to-wall” people in the streets, which turned me into a nervous wreck. I try to avoid crowds whenever possible. Now I think even more of a reason exists to do so.

Thankful Thursday
Thursday also is when we join host Brian for the Thankful Thursday blog hop.
I promised to show some photos this week of our nearly completed house addition. No progress was made this week in completing those few minor things that are still unfinished, but, nonetheless, it is totally liveable.
Since these photos were taken, I have added a few pictures to the walls and a rug on the laundry room floor.
Some of colors are slightly distorted. The laundry room photo is representative of the actual wall, woodwork and floor colors.
A huge thankful for this week is that Sawyer has been doing a better job of eating his meals and getting his meds. Though our little buddy had a gran mal seizure this past Sunday, it lasted a short amount of time and stopped on its own. We can deal with those.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop. To join, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on the badge below to go to Brian’s blog.
We’re with you, we all hate crowds here, humans and kitties ! Your new house addition is terrific, it’s beautiful ! Purrs
I hate crowds too! The addition is looking beautiful and you must be so relieved it is only minor things left to do.
We are not a fan of crowds and would never want to be someplace like that photo.
Good news about Sawyer being more receptive to his meds.
Mama’s pet peeve is the crowds too. She might faint if she’s in that photo you showed. Is that somewhere in India or something, because she sees online the photos of overcrowded trains and train depots in India.
Anyway, mom loves the flooring. She has a thing for flooring lately.
Great poem. I love the addition! Everything is beautiful. XO
Wow, your addition is stunning! It may have taken awhile…and was a real pain in the you-know-what…but definitely worth it!
It’s beautiful! Can you come and do mine next – MOL!
So glad to hear that Sawyer is eating and taking his meds. Purrs and prayers and POTP for Sawyer, so sorry there was another seizure.
I hate crowds, too. Your addition is so beautiful. Yeah, I could live with that! 😉 LOL! Sorry to hear about Sawyer’s seizure but so glad he’s doing better. Have a fabulous weekend.
Crowds have never been my favorite thing either. A crowd as big as the one in the photo prompt would make me turn around and run away. Too many people and too few cats! And I knew your renovations would be beautiful, but I had no idea they’d be this beautiful. Your home is stunning! Purrs to Sawyer and all of you!
I’m staying home with a good book too. Not going to get into that sea of humanity.
I love, love, love your new master, master bath and laundry room Beautiful.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties. Big hug to you. ♥
Your poem is spot on for tese times we live in, sadly. I ws in a crowd like that once in the late 1980’s at Union Station mall in Washington DC…and truly I was like a sardine squished in a can…and we did not worry too mauch about violence even…
Your addition is fabulous!! Makes me want to bulldoze our den and start over, MOL!
Terrific! Love your ceiling lights, and totally get your blue & green color pallet! You know those are supposed to be the colors that cats can see.
WOW, WOW, WOW, your addition is stunning, we love it! And Sawyer, keep doing the eating and meds thing, it sounds like it’s helping. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
WOW……..both on the poem AND the addition. The poem is so true about crowds nowadays although we can remember back years when we’d travel being warned about crowds when it came to pickpockets – this photo is a “pickpocket’s heaven” I think!. As for the addition – it’s absolutely gorgeous. Love the colors and fixtures, furniture – EVERYTHING you so carefully chose and designed is so very beautiful. I know you are beyond elated the construction is over with but after the dust has settled – you have an oasis now on the first floor which you REALLY needed!!!
Love, Pam

We agree with you about crowds….way too scary.
Your addition is magnificent. You really did a fabulous job picking out everything and the mosaics are stunning.
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle who says keep up the good work eating.
Beautiful addition. I love all of the color and the bathroom is so spacious! So nice! I love the color work next to the garage door. Love it! Crowds, if they are too thick it is too much otherwise I can tolerate some crowding. So glad to hear Sawyer is doing well despite one seizure.
