Sparks
Today’s Spark was selected by both Mom and me. After I share it with you, I’ll tell you why.
As I am a gentleman, I will share Mom’s reason first. A couple of week’s ago, the Friendly Fill-Ins (hosted by Ellen from 15 And Meowing and Lorianne from Four-Legged Furballs) offered this sentence to be completed: “If I had to choose a guide word for 2019, it would be (blank).” Mom selected the word perseverance. Persistence is a synonym for perseverance. Never giving up on yourself is he best gift you can give yourself, according to Mom.
I selected this Spark after having a small, focal seizure Saturday night. Mom and Dad were able to keep me calm by holding me until it passed. I did cover all of us in enough drool to fill a swimming pool. This was my first seizure since adding a new med to my regime after the December 19 seizure that landed be in the hospital for two days. Not only am I going to remain confident that I will never have one of those terrible seizures again, but Mom and Dad also will do the same. And they both will persevere at making certain I take all my meds everyday.
So that’s why we selected this quote from Khalid as our Spark. For those (like us) who had not heard of Khalid, here’s a little info about him.
Khalid Donnel Robinson is a 20-year-old, American singer and songwriter in the R&B genre. His debut single, “Location,” was released in July 2016, peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2017, Khalid won a VMA (Video Music Award) for Best New Artist.
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Kitties Blue and I ask for your continued prayers for Annie and her family as they try to reconcile this mess and get their lives back to normal.
Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

Purrs and paw-pats, Sawyer
Sawyer, we are sorry you had that seizure. We know you, Mom and Dad will persevere, and we will believe with you all that those seizures are things of the past. Keep on going! We love you all!
Gosh! Taylor, I am glad you have such pawsome folks. They sure know how to persevere and the Spark…pawsome!!! We love it.
I gotta tell you, that the Feliway is working. We have it up on the bedroom level and the have been no wars up there since Caturday, we are still playing chase and race but it is more in fun…there have been some whappy paws down on the living room level and down at the front door. Way less intensity. Mom thinks we should be back to normal soon.

Oh no, I’m glad mom and dad were there to hold and comfort you. I was so hoping that you’d be seizure free with the new meds.

Aw, dear Sawyer, I’m sorry you had another seizure, albeit not as severe as in the past. And knowing the perseverance and love of your mom and dad, this shall be overcome. I always liked the saying, “Never give up, never give in.” Prayers for you, little Sawyer. <3
We will be right here with you Sawyer and we know you will purrsevere!
I am sorry that you had another seizure, Sawyer, but I am confident that your positive attitude will help.
Sawyer we’re 100% with you AND your Mom about persevering…..through thick, thin, and everything in between, it’s carrying on that gets you moving FORWARD. You are living your best life – that’s what we ALL should do! Hang in there little buddy – you are better now on the three meds and I’m hoping no more BIG seizures. I’d prefer (as you would) no more seizures AT ALL though!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
I am sorry you had another seizure, Sawyer, but relieved it was a small one.
Holding Angelique seems to help her when she has a stress seizure (mostly about going to da vet). Sending purrs dat you don’t have any more nasty ones.
I am purring that your seizures cease too, Sawyer!
Oh, My…another seizure? But at least it was a small one. Phew!
You re right, perseverance is a very good thing, it helps petcretary get through a lot of ‘stuff’ , both at home and at her work. It remeinds her of Churchill’s ‘Never Ever Give Up.’
