Caturday Art: Selfie Hijacked
I am totally a daddy’s girl, but when Dad Tom is away, Mom’s lap will do in a pinch. That’s where I was snuggled yesterday morning when I decided to take a selfie. When she’s on the computer, it is easy to stick out a paw and click on the camera. I thought I was doing all my fursibs a favor as well as giving my fans a nice photo of myself. I don’t do that very often.
The next thing I knew, Mom (can you hear the derision in my voice?) was tarting up my photo and turning it into art for Athena’s Caturday Art blog hop. What the meow was she thinking? I like to be artified, and she has made some very nice art using my image. But this was MY selfie, where everyone could admire my natural beauty. MOUSES!
I’ll let you all be the judge on which photo you like better. Here is the natural me…well, almost. Mom removed the freckle from my right eye.
Admit it…that’s a great selfie! Okay, now that we have established what a terrific job I did with this photo, here’s the arty one. I’ll admit, I do like the colors she used. I hope Clooney will drop in to see me. It’s been such a long time since we’ve gotten together.
To create the art, Mom used the Cloud Front filter from Dreamscope, then the Toxic Purple filter and flower border from piZap and plain, black and purple borders from Picasa.
So, this is my entry in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. To join this fun hop and/or see the other submissions, click on her badge.
Sunday Selfie Blog Hop Reminder
It is fairly obvious that I won’t be back here tomorrow to host our blog hop. After all, my selfie was hijacked and squandered here. I can guarantee you that I have no intention of taking another one. The only thing I know right now is that we will be dedicating tomorrow’s post to the beautiful Snowball from 15 And Meowing. We found out last night that she suddenly received her wings and has left for the Rainbow Bridge. We hope you will join us tomorrow in honoring and remembering Snowball.
Purrs and paw-pats, Giulietta
That is a beautiful selfie and I love the art too. XO
Nice, super lovely selfie! You have been honored because it inspired your Mom to make a beautiful artwork!
We made a memento for Snowball, too…so sad she had to leave so suddenly:(
We like both pictures, but the lovely shading of your real furs looks “mahvelous, dear”!!!
That is a very soulful selfie! Love it, my good kitty!
A lap is a lap right? I’m sure you made your mom super happy.

Whoa! I never realized using two filters would work but it does. I thought I’d like the original better but the art is stunning.
oooooo, trippy!
Have a great weekend…

We kinda like what your mom did, Giulietta. Though we do like the selfie you took as well. We are sad to hear about Snowball…and we send purrs to Miss Ellen.
Both da selfie and da art are pawsome!
The selfie came out great but we really do love the colors of the Caturday Art pic!
We think you look totally gorgeous in each photo!!! Happy Caturday!
Pawsome art, Giulietta ! Purrs
Totally awesome Giulietta. Your mom is very good at these Artsy photos.
Shoko
your artwork is GORGEOUS!
Love these! 😻
Your selfie skills are second to none, Giulietta. And you make for a beautiful art piece, too! We’ll see you tomorrow with some semblance of a selfie. We’ll also be crafting something up in honor of dear Snowball.
They are both purrfect pics to us!
Purrs xx

We LOVE your selfie and Mom’s artwork, Giulietta! We’re sorry you won’t be starring in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop tomorrow, but we understand. Your mom could not resist using your beautiful photo today. 🙂
That is a beautious selfie and wonderful art! That’s a beautiful way to honor dear Snowball.
The selfie is just perfect in its own right, but the arty version really caught my eye. Stunning!
Oh I think your BEFORE and your AFTER pictures are beautiful Giulietta! Your Mom does such a gorgeous job “pretty-fying” with the editing programs…..you look grand “au natural” too though………..we are very sad about sweet Snowball. She had a lot of medical problems but everyone was hopeful she would be strong enough to be here for a while longer – I’m just happy that she was home and with her loving family when she left for the Bridge instead of at the vet’s. Hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend!!
Hugs, Teddy (with Angel Sammy in the clouds)
That is a really nice selfie, Giulietta! The art is very cool too.
She is beautiful. My heart is broken by Snowball’s lost battle. Each one takes a piece of us when they leave. ❤
We totally agree with you. Your own natural beauty is the best – as is your furry own selfie, taken with your own fair paw.
