Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
On Thursdays, Kitties Blue and I like to have a little fun by writing a poem based on an inspiration photo provided by Two Spoiled Cats (Teddy and Angel Sammy). We’ve been writing poetry with them since they started this challenge several years ago. In the past couple of months I have been altering the original photo by adding one or more of the Kitties Blue. I have enjoyed the added creative options this has provided me and plan to continue along this path whenever possible.
Cooper Murphy, who has joined this week’s photo, and I hope you enjoy today’s poem.
Monkey Versus Cat
When it’s super hot
A cool drink hits the spot.
And a little faucet shower
Helps beat the heat at any hour.
But when your friend hogs all the water,
It can be such a terrible bother.
I only asked for a little taste
And a tiny splash to wash my face.
But my pal refused to budge
Even when I gave him a nudge.
I never knew he had a selfish demeanor
Or could be such a giant weiner.
When I have a banana and he asks for a bite,
I’m going to tell him to take a hike.
If he doesn’t want to share his water now,
I’m not giving him any of my chow.

We are all thankful to have had a couple of days without rain. Kitties Blue have been enjoying the catio, as evidenced by yesterday’s post. I was able to do some yard work and get my annuals in pots, except for the bachelor button (cornflower), which some critter ate. We aren’t too thankful, however, that when the rain went away the hots came. The forecast is that those will be tapering off soon for which I’ll be grateful.
As always, Kitties Blue and I are thankful for your support and friendship.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful. Then go to Brian’s blog by adding his URL in your browser.
