Sparks
Memorial Day is a U.S. federal holiday. It is meant for mourning American military personnel who died while serving in the United States armed forces. But today, I want to mourn and remember, as well, all those who have lost their lives to the senseless and cruel shootings plaguing our country. I really don’t want to accept the disappointment and anger I feel for those who have perpetrated these horrible deeds. Like Martin Luther King, Jr., himself the victim of gun violence, I am trying to remain hopeful that our country’s citizens can heal, and our government will make some laws to curtail the sale of weapons to those harboring hatred in their hearts.
As you celebrate the holiday today, please say a prayer for those who have fought and died for our country as well as the innocent individuals who suffered and died needlessly.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Very appropriate quote. All those killings are so senseless and heart wrenching.
Something really needs to be done about all the mass shootings. It’s horrible.
That’s a very nice Spark. We will always remember our heroes.
Excellent Spark Misty May. XO
For those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, we’ll never forget you.
Cute picture of Misty May and good spark from MLK! I completely agree about better and wiser regulation of guns.
Our prayer is as yours is…..an end to the gun violence that has plagued us due to the inaction of the powers that be who seem to be unable to pass appropriate legislation. The day is also of course about all the people who fought so hard to keep our country free – and that brings to mind the situation in the Ukraine. So, we all have a lot to think about today. Martin Luther King, Jr. said what most of us have in our hearts!
Hugs, Pam
